"Gilmore Girls" (One Shots)

~Lying to Jason~ (4x22)

~Author's Note~

In, "Season 4, Episode 22: Raincoats and Recipes", Jason comes and surprises Lorelai while the Dragonfly Inn was having its test run. He wanted to try to get her back, even though they had broken up. He thought they were just taking a break from being together. He tried to talk to her, she refused, and he insisted that he was not going to leave and that he was going to stay until she had time for a talk about their relationship with him. Then Lorelai disappeared to go back home, caught Rory and Dean together. When she came back to the Dragonfly. Lorelai asks Sookie were Jason was, Sookie told her that they had told him that a fire started at his apartment and he had run out of the inn to get back to his apartment.

(No one's POV)

Jason was still sitting in the Dragonfly's sitting room. He was waiting for Lorelai to come back and was going anywhere until he got to talk to her. He wanted her back and he was going to try everything to make her see that.

Sookie was coming in at that moment making sure that everyone loved the food and to ask what they had thought about their servers, since she had to fire one. As she was going around she noticed that Jason was sitting there and that they has been there for a while.

Sookie walked over to him and said, "would you like anything else"?

Jason turned to the side and looked over at Sookie. "No, thanks", he says. "Oh, I'm Jason Stiles", he says, as he shakes her hand.

Sookie sat down on the other side of the room, on the sofa. "You're waiting for her, aren't you", she said, after a couple minutes of silence.

Jason looked up at her, startled. "How did you...how did you know"?, she said startled.

Sookie started to laugh, "I'm Sookie, Lorelai's business partner and best friend. Of course, I would know about you and her". Then she got very serious and said, "does she know that you are waiting for her to get back"?

Jason looked at her and said, "Yes, she knows. Also, she know that I'm not going to leave until I talk, to her about us getting back together".

"Maybe, she stepped out to avoid talking to you. She doesn't want to get back together with you. Also, letting you sit here, maybe she thought that maybe you would give up and go back to your apartment", Sookie said, expecting that was the case.

Jason, who was getting aggravated now and said, with aghast, "you know, for someone who has no idea was it going on, certainly has a lot of opinions about this situation. Lorelai and I belong together, and nothing you can say about us, that will make me leave without see and taking with her", Jason said.

Sookie stood up and sighed defeated, and said, "You're right Jason. I don't know the details about your and Lorelai's relationship. Enjoy your wait". As Sookie walks away, and she turned to look at Jason. "He never going to leave", she thought. "This might be the only way I'm going to get rid of him, if I tell him that his apartment has caught on fire. "Yeah, that's what I'm going to do", she thought.

She turned and walked straight back over to where Jason was sitting and said, as a final way to get Jason out of there, "you know, it's shame waiting for someone who might not want you back, while you apartment is on fire. You surely wouldn't want to loose your apartment for nothing", Sookie said, and then the turned around and walked back to the kitchen, and by time she turned back to see if her idea worked. Jason had disappeared.
