"Gilmore Girls" (One Shots)

~Dinner with Trix (2)~ (3x10)

~Author's Note~

This is the second installment of one-shot, entitled, "Emily in a panic" (1). In "Season 3, Episode 10: That'll do, Pig", Richard's mother, Trix was coming to stay with Emily and Richard. Emily is not very happy about it. That she also wanted to see where Rory and Lorelai loved and that she wanted to have dinner at the Inn. This is about when they are all having dinner, and Emily will not stick to Trix's very strict, time-oriented schedule and purposely takes longer, with the asparagus. This one-shot will emphasize more on when Emily cut one of her asparagus piece into 16- little pieces, to make the dinner entree course last longer then 8 minutes, which is the only amount of time that Trix, allowed for each course. This one-shot is written in Emily's POV. Hope you enjoy!!!

(Emily's POV)

I'm in an total nightmare. I am sitting at a table with my daughter, who likes to take pleasure in my distress, a husband who I love and work hard to keep happy and keep his social standing with our friends and his work colleagues . Then we have my mother in law, who can't stand me, like I can't stand her, either.

So, this entire night I have been personally made sure to purposefully annoy her, by not adhering to her, seems to me, ridiculous dinner course serving schedule. This is totally ridiculous, that someone would tell me how to eat my dinner, or how fast to eat it.

Just then I see Sooki coming to collect the dishes. I grab my plate, and finish eat my asparagus.

"Don't take my plate, Sooki. I'm not done yet", I say, hurriedly.

"Your had 8 minutes Emily. How can you not be done"?, Trix said, accusingly.

I sighed, and stared at her, and said stoned faced, "I'm not done", Then I took a bite of my asparagus. I took the last asparagus on my plate, cut it into 16 1/2 inch pieces, and kept eating taking my time.

Lorelai looking over at me, and smirked, and I just smiled slightly and kept on eating my 16-pieces of one asparagus stick.
