"Gilmore Girls" (One Shots)

~What have I done? (3)~ (Around 7x14)

~Author's Note~

This is the third installment following the one-shots, entitled, "I'm done, Christopher, I'm done" and "Sending the ring back to Christopher". In this one is when he get home from his business trip and he had a package, sitting on the mat in front of his apartment. Inside is Lorelai's rin, that she is sending it back to him, and then he reads her letter. Then he realizes that he had lost her good this time and it could have been avoided, if he kept his jealously in check.

Now, some women are turned on by husbands when they are jealous, but Lorelai is not that kind of  person. This will be in Christopher's POV, and no one's (Narrator's) POV.

(Christopher's POV)

I just get home from a business trip. I walk up to my apartment.

When I get to my door, I see a package in front of my apartment door. Confused I pick it up, and I'm a little confused. I don't remember buying anything online, but I should probably bring it in anyway.

(No one's POV)

Christopher opens his door, after he picks up the package. It was addressed to him, so he curiously opened the package. He, in opening it found a ring, a wedding band, the exact one that he remembered that he put on Lorelai's hand, when Lorelai and he got married. As soon as he saw it staring back at him. "So, she was throwing in the towel on their marriage"?, he thought. Then, he found the letter that Lorelai had written and had mailed it with the wedding band.

As soon as he finished reading the letter, he started to be very upset. She had told him what that character reference was for, to help make sure that Luke can see his daughter. Of course, he knew what that felt like to be cut off from his daughter, had that's how he felt with Rory, and he had done nothing about it. He had stayed away.

His jealously of Luke. Lorelai and Luke still have feeling for each other? That jealousy had clouded his judgement so much that he told her that he could be her rebound and walked out, he had turned his phone off and went back on the road traveling for his job.

Suddenly, in his despair he realized he never turned his phone on. When he did finally get his phone turned back on, he found 20 messages in his voicemail box. Richard had had another heartache and they were at the hospital. Also that he wasn't there, and that he should be there.

As soon as I finished listened to all of my messages, especially that last one from Lorelai, I put down the phone, and went to sleep, alone. What have I done?

Yes, he was living in Stars Hollow in her house, in this one shot. Since he was staying away I figured that he never sold his apartment in Boston, so I figured that be might went there.
