You know Christopher said that he never wanted to be like his parents, but even when he's not trying to be like his Dad, he was like his Dad.
So this is how he's like his Dad.

Like Straub, Christopher was absent of Rory's and Lorelai's life. He was missed Rory's Chilton Graduation. when Rory moved into her dorm at Yale, Luke moved her in it and also come to Rory's Chilton Graduation. Luke was there through it all and Christopher wasn't there for any of it.
Straub was also a bully, Luke and Christopher have three confrontations together, two ended in them punching each other in the face.
Christopher as irresponsible, just like Straub, probably was when he was younger. He made parental mistakes but he doesn't own up to what he did, but then blames other people. For his mistakes that are all his fault.
He thinks that marriage will make them a family. Straub and Francine both thought that if Christopher and Lorelai got married, when Lorelai was pregnant, then they would become a family. Christopher thought they could be a family if they got married and then everything would be okay.
