This one shot is about when Rory talks Lorelai to tell her that Sherry went into labor, this is also set in "Season 3, Episode 13: Dear Emily and Richard", it was never shown on-screen, but I'm assuming that she did because Lorelai went to Friday Night Diner alone an Emily, when she answered the door, she said about Rory being at the hospital already.

(No one's POV)
After Rory got off the phone with Maureen, she walked off, out of the newspaper room. As she walked down the hall, she dialed Lorelai's phone, and waited for Lorelai to pick up.
"Hey, you done with school already"? Lorelai asked.
"Yeah, I am done".
"Great, so are you on the way home".
"No, I can't come home yet".
"Oh, no, what are they making you do, stay late at school tonight, again. It's the second time this week".
"Mom, that only happened ounce, and no, this is something else. Sherry went into labor, and I have to go to the hospital to be with her, so I'm on the way to the hospital to be with her. So, I can't get there back in time to be there for Friday Night Dinner".
"Oh, no, I don't know how I'm going to sit through dinner alone with my mother".
"Well you don't have a choice in it".
"Okay, I'll go".
"Okay, now I have to go, I have to get to the hospital".
Lorelai and Rory both hung up.
