This is after Rory tells Lorelai that she doesn't want to go to Chilton anymore. Lorelai tells Rory that she already asked her parents for the money for Chilton from the "Pilot" of Gilmore Girls" and here is what I think should have happened, unfortunately it didn't . May contain spoilers!!!

(No one's POV)
"What???!!!!" Lorelai screamed! Rory just told her mother that she didn't think she wanted to got to Chilton anymore. Plus to make it worse she came to her estranged parents to ask for money to send Rory to Chilton, and now it she finds out that she went crawling to her parents afterward.
"But why?" said Lorelai, finally after she got herself composed, after the shock.
"Well", Rory said. "It costs a lot of money for one thing, and it's far away from here, like it's over 30 minutes".
"Well you are going to Chilton because we have the money", Lorelai said.
"But how?", Rory finally said, after getting over the shock.
"Well, I went to my parents and asked them for the money for Chilton today, but the catch is that we have to come over to Hartford every Friday for Friday Night Dinner at 7 o'clock". Lorelai said, feeling nauseous after saying it. "okay, I go then". Rory said, Mother and Daughter hug.
