~Author's Note~

This is the third installment of this series. This is about Sherry finding out that Christopher would not be there, while she's delivering their baby. Also during this time, she might be making a decision about her relationship with Christopher. Hope you enjoy!

"I will go back to Sherry, to help her deliver the baby, but I was hoping that you would find time in your busy schedule to help out the only daughter you have currently have, when she needs your help", Rory said, then she hung up the phone.

(No one's POV)

After she hung up her cell phone, she just stood there brewing. How could he do this? She asked herself, but then she thought to herself "Come on, Rory. This is what he does all of the time. He makes promises that he's going to be there for me and Mom, then Sherry gets pregnant, so he leaves us her and me, so he could be there for this baby because he missed all of the times that I was growing up, he leaves us to be there for Gigi and Sherry. Now he's not even there for the person that he left them for.

She was so upset that she didn't even notice that several minutes went by, and Sherry was probably in there all by herself freaking out. She should probably get back in the room with her.

When she walked into Sherry's room, she sees Sherry still in the bed and still on the phone. Rory was hesitant about telling Sherry anything about Christopher, but she would probably ask about him.

After Sherry gets off the phone, she goes and walks next to the bed, where Sherry was. As soon as Sherry got off the phone, she turns to the side and smiles at Rory.

"I finally got a hold of Dad. He's not able to make it. He's out of town in San Antonio so he's not going to be here", Rory said, hesitantly.

Sherry looks at her very scared. "But... bu... but, what am I going to do?. I need him here", she starts freaking out.

Rory, feeling sorry for her and furious at her father, put aside her feelings that she had toward her dad and at least to try to help to get Sherry to have the baby, "Sherry", she said. "Relax, Sherry. I'm right here. Since Christopher is not going to be here, everything is going to be okay", Rory said.

Sherry nodded, and smiled at Rory.

(Sherry's POV)

Wow! So Christopher is not coming. I can't believe it, well I kind of do believe it. After all, that's who Christopher is, someone who makes a promise and backs out because his work precludes it.

Christopher's away all of the time and I don't know if I can raise a baby/kid all by myself. Maybe, Christopher and I shouldn't get married?! Maybe Rory will have some advice about this. I look over and I see Rory holding on to my hand, "I'm right here", she said. "It will be okay".

I sigh, Rory is a smart girl, but she didn't know that it will be okay. She can't know how scared I am about having this baby. Rory leaned over, and sat down on the side of the hospital bed, and looked into my eyes, "What's wrong"?, she asked.

I froze, I really didn't want to burden Rory with my troubles, but I look into her, very trusting eyes. Well I might as well as I don't have anyone else to talk to. Plus, the person that I really, mostly want to talk to is in San Antonio, working, no less.

"Rory", I say. "I don't know if I can do this. I don't know if I can raise this baby by myself".

"You won't be by yourself through, Sherry. You will have Christopher to help you", she said.

"Well, yes I will have Christopher, if I decide to stay with him", I said hurriedly. Rory just looks at me, startled.

(Rory's POV)

"Well, yes I will have Christopher, if I decide to stay with him", Sherry said, I looked at her shocked.

I couldn't believe it, not that I was defending Christopher, but she knew what kind of man he was before the got engaged, she did accept his proposal. Now, it's a problem, and now she's asking for my advice about what she should do.

After I get over my shock, and looks at her tired looking eyes and her face, I could tell that she was worried, and very confident about her decision about whether or not she was going to leave Christopher, and take Gigi with her.

I clear my throat, and say, "Sherry? Are you actually considering leaving him"?

Sherry stares at me, and says, "Oh Rory, I don't know. Maybe I'm just emotional. You know, if the baby had just waited to come out, and come next week as originally planned maybe Christopher's business trip would be done by then, then he would be here with me".

If I wasn't surprised enough she had said that she was thinking about leaving Christopher, and taking Gigi with her. I was even more shocked this time. Was she actually blaming the baby, by the fact the baby was early, instead of coming the next week like she thought. That if it only came the next week, then maybe Christopher will be there for the birth of Gigi.

"Sherry. I think that Christopher would be out of town, on a business trip, even if he had originally promised to be here. That's just the kind of person he is, he goes around and makes promises that he think he can follow through on them. But, then something or someone comes up or gets involved in his life, and then he backs out, he also doesn't handle complications and confrontations very well. He will try to turn it on you and make it seems as it is your fault that you are in this situation, that you are currently in. Listen I can't give you advice or insight about what you should do, plus you have Gigi to think about. Do you really want to leave Christopher and take Gigi with you? Just think about that". She looks at me, and nods her head. Then she grabs my hand and squeezes it.

(No one's POV)

Sherry is squeezing Rory's hand. She must be close to having the baby. Christopher is still not here, so Rory agreed to be there with her.

Sherry buzzes for the doctor, who comes in a few minutes later.

"You ready", the doctor says to Sherry, she nods. Then the doctor turned her head and she looked at Rory, who's hand was still grabbed by Sherry's hand and Sherry was squeezing it still. Rory nodded, to let the doctor know that she was ready also. So, after a few seconds getting situated, they rolled Sherry into the delivery room, where she had the baby.

*Several hours later*

Sherry was sitting on the hospital bed in her hospital room. She was holding Gigi and was extremely happy. She was extremely happy that she didn't really care that Gigi decided to come early. Rory was a huge help. Just then the hospital room door opened and Rory walked in. She walks over to Sherry, and, "How are you doing? Feeling good? Do you need anything"? Sherry smiles at her, and says. "No. Thanks Rory. Would you like to hold her"?

Rory smiled and said, "I would love to". Sherry put Gigi in Rory's opened arms. Rory stared at the little bundle in her arms, and smiled, then she looked at Sherry. "She beautiful, Sherry".

After a few minutes Rory gave Gigi back to Sherry. It was getting late and she wanted to get back home before it gets dark. But before Rory could say goodbye to Sherry, Sherry looked up at Rory with wide eyes and said, "Rory I know this sounds crazy but I don't feel being alone with Gigi, while Christopher out of town, would you mind staying for a few days, until he gets back"?

Rory, who didn't really want to stay looked at Sherry's terrified look on her face that made her change her mind, and she secretly hoped that Christopher came home soon. "Sure, Sherry. For a few days", she says. Then she says, "Sherry, if you ever decide to leave Christopher, at least let him see her. My mom did that to me, but he never came to see us, just thinking about what that would mean.
