Soulmate AU ; Taeil

(A huge happy birthday to our angel Taeil!! I might not make some of these soulmate aus where it's happening on their birthday to stay away from getting repetitive, but it's still in honor of our sons on their special days. Also, it's still June 14th where I am so it counts dfsdfjlsk)

Taeil entered the store with his shoulders hunched. He lost to the other members in a game where the loser has to go and buy all the groceries. He pulled out a shopping cart and started to roam the aisles while in search of the items on the list. He couldn't help but notice yet another small bruise his forearm that he has no idea where it came from.

He let out a small laugh and shook his head. My soulmate must be such a clumsy person, he thought to himself. Taeil, out of all the other members, receives the most mystery marks from his soulmate. They mostly show up on joints like they rammed it on something or tripped.

Taeil finds himself daydreaming often about being with his soulmate. Him always protecting them from their clumsy tendencies. Though, this time he shook out of his daydream to focus on the groceries he was in need of buying.

He started making his way down yet another row. An employee was seen stocking up new cans on the shelves. The sleeve to their shirt was raised just a bit and Taeil couldn't help but notice a familiar bruise on their forearm. Stopping in his tracks, Taeil looked back and forth from his to theirs, his heart pounding.

However, upon further inspection the bruise was slightly out of proportion and they missed a couple of other spots Taeil had. With a feeling of disappointment, Taeil started to push the shopping cart once again. He slowly exhaled while thinking, when am I ever going to find the one I'm meant to be with?

All the way back to his younger days, he's been one to constantly think about them. Every new scratch and bruise that showed up from his clumsy soulmate. He would even ask his parents to tell him stories of when they met.

There have been many times when he believed that he had found his soulmate, but then realized that not everything matched up. Each time would give Taeil a slight feeling of disappointment before continuing on with what he was previously doing. To make things even cheesier, Taeil has already written a song for his future soulmate. He wanted to show them on their first date.

This wasn't even a case of love at first sight... it was love at first bruise.

A sudden, and quite loud, sound erupted behind Taeil, snapping him out of his thoughts. One of the racks that was filled with various bakery items was now on its side with the packaged food piled on the floor. Taeil stared at the pile with confusion as a person emerged from under it, rubbing their head with an expression of pain.

Without hesitation, Taeil ran to their side to help clean up the mess. This person stayed sitting, now covering their face from embarrassment. "Ah, why am I like this?" you muttered, peeking out from your hands. "I'm so clumsy."

"Hi, So Clumsy, I'm Taeil," he jokingly greeted with a smile to try to cheer you up.

You let out a small laugh. "No, my name is (y/n), but I can't physically function."

After the food and rack was picked up, Taeil extended a hand out to help you up. You reached up, exposing fresh cut on your arm under a bruise. Taeil widened his eyes at the sight. "Did you get hurt?"

You looked at the scratch and shrugged. "I'm not too surprised."

That's when something else caught Taeil's eye. A new mystery scratch on his own arm under a bruise. He held your arm against his and compared the same markings. The both of you stood there staring.

Finally, Taeil gave you a bright smile. "I'm going to have to make sure to keep you as safe as possible from now on."

(A/N): I could've totally made this kind of AU go down the angsty or sad route but it's Taeil's birthday and I can't do our boy like that sdfksk maybe a separate ansty book with this kind of concept in the future
