(Taehyung's POV Past Part 5)
We stepped out of the store, bags held tightly in my hands, as we walk the rest of the way to the park. The clean crisp air hit me with a hint of leafs that were losing its color due to the change in season. It was a beautiful start to the fall and I couldn't think of anything other than being my best on our first date.
We walked side by side, eyeing each other constantly but were afraid to say anything so it was a silent walk. The scent of her hair however was so strong that every time the wind blew through her hair, the scent of her strawberry shampooed hair brushed through my nose. It reminded me of my favorite fruit;strawberry.
Every weekend my grandmother and I, since I was just a small kid, would go to the flower shop and buy seeds to plant flowers. When we come home, we would go to her backyard, organize the garden and would spend hours upon hours planting those small packets of seeds. Her favorite thing to plant was yellow and purple flowers because they reminded her of her husband. My grandfather loved the color yellow and always liked our trips to Jeju Island because of the yellow flowers. After planting and gardening, my grandmother would make a strawberry shortcake as a reward for the hard work and I always took my time to enjoy the delicate and soft dessert.
My wondering mind goes back to looking at Jisu's hair. How her shiny strands of hair would sway with the wind. Her hair was like poetry, steady rhythm with just enough detail to tell a possible story. I couldn't stop looking at how beautiful her blemish free skin was and how delicate they must feel.
We arrived to the park and the sun was about an hour away to finally set. We walked to a spot on the grass near a tall tree and took out a small blanket from my bag and placed it on the grass. I took out the items from the bag and started placing them on top of the blanket. My hands shook with every ounce of anxiety I had but Jisu was too fixated on try to get her dress from blowing too much in the air. My eyes began to wonder towards her pale and delicate hands. They were as small as my grandmothers.
After setting everything up I sat down and eventually Jisu followed along. She seemed very nervous telling by how she would look away every five seconds. I didn't want her to feel that why but I was feeling the same way as well. After all I was the one who asked her on a date. To make things a bit more comfortable for her I decided to start by making light conversation.
I cleared my throat to get rid of the big chunk of nervousness out of me "So how are you liking it here?"
She snaps out of her thoughts, her gaze somewhat focused on me "Uh it's nice. It's very spacious here. I guess I can finally breathe now that I'm out of the city" She smiles shyly, her face now focused on her hands as they pinched the fabric of her dress.
"That's good. I wish I can go out to the big city someday." I smile at her. She chuckles as bit but her eyes never left her hands. I reach out and grab a bottled green tea that was in front of me "Here. Would you like something to drink?" I ask politely.
Her eyes shot up, looking at the bottle in my hand and then back at me. "Oh yeah. Thank you" She gently takes the bottle slowly opening up the cap and takes her first sip of tea.
I reach out to grab one of the pastries, taking the plastic off and tossing it in one of the empty bags. I ate the pastry while cautiously trying to come up with some other questions to ask.
"I know you only told me very little about yourself but what are your hobbies?" Chewing and swallowing my second bite of the pastry.
Her lips detached from the bottle, closed the cap and placed it in front of her. She then gets into an Indian style position, but her distance from me never changed. "Umm. I like to draw and read books on famous artists?" She chuckles, amused at my question.
