After dinner, Valentin and Jolan went out to look around the village for any signs of bandits.  It was the only logical conclusion for all the missing people.

They made their way deeper into the forest, silently moving through the bushes.  Nothing was out of the ordinary until they saw a firelight from afar. Without a word, they made their way towards the light and stopped to see the camp that was made.

Valentin and Jolan stood within the shadows for hours, for the people who made the camp to come back, however no one came back.  There were no signs of struggle. The camp had two tents that were set up, and four bags of belongings, their food was set out as if they were getting ready to cook some dinner.

Valentin looked over a Jolan and Jolan looked back at him.  The disappearance of the four campers was strange. Valentin and Jolan stood in the shadows all through the night, waiting for something to happen, but nothing did.

When the sun rose, Valentin finally moved towards the camp.  Behind him, Jolan kept watch, not moving from where he hid. He watched as Valentin searched the camp and the camper’s belongings before putting out the fire completely.

When he was done, they both left the site and made their way back to the village with the camper’s belongings.  They directly went the the chief’s house and told him of their findings and left the camper’s belongings with him.

When they got back to the Inn, they found an empty table at the back of the eatery and was quickly greeted by Sandra.

“We didn’t see you guys come back last night, so Father and Mother was quite worried that you guys had either left or went missing.”  Sandra told them softly as she poured them some tea. “Good thing you’re back early or Father would have gone to the chief and reported you missing.”

Valentin stayed quiet while Jolan smiled at her and thanked her for the tea before ordering breakfast.  But the moment he saw Sandra’s lingering eyes on Valentin, it made him dislike her.

Dare looking at my man and I’ll crush you!  Jolan thought as he glared at Sandra’s back as she left them alone.

“Tsk.”  Jolan sneered as he reached out to hold Valentin’s hand on the table.  His fingers kept touching and tracing Valentin’s large hand and fingers absentmindedly while his thoughts were on their mission.

How can four people disappear without a struggle or a fight?  It was as if they just stood up and left. Could they have been in a situation where a weapon was held against their necks?  Or did they encounter someone they knew and left with that person?

There were no trails leaving the campsite either, so that means whoever took them knew how to cover their tracks.  Whoever took them knows the forest around the village. Whoever took them, might be from the village or someone living near the village.

But why take people?  To kill? To sell? Why take people, but not their valuables?  Why?

As Jolan’s thoughts ran with thoughts about their mission.  Valentin’s thoughts were of different ways to seduce his little bunny.  Seeing how they stayed out all night and he didn’t get a chance to hold his bunny, he would now have to take advantage of the little bunny when they were alone.  His bunny touching his hand was creating a fire within his body already, it took all of his will to not pounce on the little bunny right now.

Mich brought their food over and once he placed their dish on the table he opened his mouth to speak to Jolan, however the look he received from Valentin completely stopped him from asking anything and left as quickly as he came.  When he turned back to look upon Jolan, Valentin’s glare made him turn around and run towards the kitchen. If anything, he would avoid as much contact with the scary man as possible.
