Raine’s life as Nyx became a routine again.  Nero’s parents no longer spoke about Nero’s engagement, because Justine’s father took Nero’s gift of appeasement in exchange to break up their engagement.   Her life with Nero became peaceful and harmonious as the seasons changed and years pass.

With five years as Nero’s only concubine and no child to continue the Pareem bloodline, Celine began to kick up a fuss with Hastel.  Her constant nagging cause him to have a serious conversation with Nero, however no matter what Hastel said, Nero never gave in. He wouldn’t bring in another woman inside of his courtyard as long as Nyx was living there.

The subject was dropped, however the next five years was rocky as Celine and Hastel reminded him on several occasions about the lack of children in his home.  Which would in turn make him come home in a bad mood.

One day after ten years of living in the Pareen Estate, Nyx was suddenly called to Celine’s courtyard. Nyx took her time getting ready and when she showed up to Celine’s courtyard,two hours has already passed.  Causing Celine and everyone else to be angry.

“Insolent girl!”  Celine said as she shouted from the head of the table.  “Taking your sweet time getting here when I sent a message to you so long ago?”  

Celine glared at Nyx and tsked at her.  

“What should I expect from a woman with a dirty background.”  Celine chided her.

“Are your words suppose to hurt me and make me cry?”  Nyx asked as she sat down in an empty seat. She didn’t bother to bow to greet any of them, nor apologize for her lateness.  She was already considered an insolent, mannerless, dirty woman, she might as well live up to their conclusion of her.

“How dare you act such a way towards me!”  Celine shouted as she picked up the hot tea cup and threw it at Nyx way.  

Without blinking, Nyx flicked the incoming teacup with her middle finger and it immediately changed its course and headed back to the ugly old woman. With her skills, she directed the hot tea to flow back to where it came from as well.  

Not only was Celine hit in the face with her own tea cup, but the hot tea was also splashed in her face.  

Celine shouted loudly with anger and surprise.  How did her own teacup come back to hit her in the face?  She was in too much pain to be embarrassed in front of her friends and daughter- in- law, Ivy.  

“Mother!”  Ivy shouted as she brought out a napkin to wipe Celine’s face.  “Quickly go get a cooling cream for Mother and send for the in house doctor.”  

Ivy’s words were quickly followed through as Celine held her own face screaming.  After a while, she didn’t know if she was screaming at the pain, or at the thought that she completely lost her reputation in front of her friends.  

Over the ten years, Raine had quickly leveled herself up to be a level 10 cultivator.  Now at the age of 28, she was a giant among many and there was nothing anyone could do to bully her.  And yet, she still had not completed her mission. Raine had learned that last dying wishes like Nyx’s were broad and hard to fulfill because it was so vague.  

“You demon!”  Celine shouted.  “You are a nine tail fox who has taken my son away from me.  You’ve changed him so much so that he no longer listens or speaks to me!  If I don’t kill you today, I can no longer live!”

“Stop shouting such nonsense.  What you should worry about is your face.”  Nyx said as she slowly blew on her tea, however she didn’t drink it.  She could already smell the poison inside of it. “How could an old woman, such as yourself, be so reckless and throw your own teacup at yourself then pour hot tea on your own face? What if your face scars?  Would Hastel keep his monthly night visit with you, now that your face has a scar on it? Oh the horror of him going to the concubine’s courtyard every single night for now on. How can you live as the main legal wife with such a disgrace that you can’t even serve your own husband because he’s afraid of your face!  Oh the horror!”

“Shut up!”  Celine cried out as her fears were revealed by Nyx.  “Hurry get the doctor! What’s taking him so long!”

Nyx turned to look at two middle age women the same age as Celine and one young woman that was 10 years younger than Nyx.  Their scheme of poisoning her then bribing her with the antidote to leave Nero was completely recorded by her Scam System. There was no way the old bird of Pareem Estate could scheme against her.  

“How shameless!”  One of the middle age woman shouted at Nyx.  “She is in pain because of you and you mock her situation?”  

“Because of me?  I wasn’t the one with little self control and threw the hot teacup like a petulant child.”  Nyx said as she placed the tea cup down.

The moment she did, the two old woman and the young woman gave a look of displeasure.  They were so close and yet so far. They had to succeed.

“It was clearly Mrs. Pareem dropping her own teacup on herself and the hot tea spilled onto her face.  If she didn’t lose control over herself then this unlucky event wouldn’t have happened. And I was merely just stating my concern about Mrs. Pareem and Mr. Pareem, seeing how they are my husband’s parents.”  

“Now I see what they say about you are true!  Insolent, mannerless, shameless, sly---”

“Dirty, slut, whore, fox.”  Nyx said as she turned towards the woman who spoke.  “What? Think those words mean anything to me? Now that you’ve seen me in the flesh, what are you going to do about it?  You going to spread out lies about me more? Who cares, it doesn’t affect me. You going to try to stick your daughter in front of my man and tempt him with a younger woman?  Doesn’t matter, because she can’t fuck him like me.”

“Ah!  How unbecoming of a woman!”  

“How uncouth!”  

“What kind of a womanly wiles does she have that can tempt my man to even look her way?  Nothing, because she doesn’t measure up to me. Especially in the chest area.” Nyx said as she cupped her breast and moved them up and down a couple of times to tease them.  

“Shameless!”  

“Fox!”  

Nyx turned to the young woman and smiled.  

“You think the valley between your legs makes you more special?  Or who your parents are? Or how you were raised? Or what kind of a talent or intelligence you have could make him waver from me?  You let them fill your head with your fantasy of becoming Nero’s wife and try to kick me out at the same time, this is your down fall. There’s nothing special about you that would make him care about you or even look your way.”  

“I’ll make him look at me.  With you gone and with time, he’ll learn to love me.”  She said.

“No matter how much you love him, you can’t force love.  If a man doesn’t love you, he doesn’t love you. Plain and simple.”  

“You don’t know that.”  

“Believe in what you want to believe. I don’t have time to argue with a child.  With time and experience, you’ll understand that what I said is the truth.”

“If you love him, you’ll let him marry me.  You’ve been with him for so long, and yet, you couldn’t even fulfill your womanly duties of baring a child for him.  I can continue the Pareem name for Nero.”

“Ha! You’re so foolish.”  Nyx said as she yawned. “If Nero says yes to the marriage, I’ll allow it without a fuss.  Hell, I’ll even leave the Pareem Estate without a fight. If Nero says yes, then there’s no meaning for me to stay.”  

“You mean it?!?”  

“Of course.”  Nyx said as she stood up.  “As long as Nero agrees to the wedding with you willingly, with his own decision, then I’ll let you marry him and leave this place forever.”  

Nyx left with the quiet room just when the doctor entered with more servants.  

What happened afterwards, Raine watched through the recording of her Scam System.
