When all the guests left the mansion, it was quiet again. The mansion was too big, for just the two of them, it made Raine feel lonely.

Raine shook her head from side to side, clearing her sad thoughts away. She was on a mission, she needed to complete it to keep on earning Soul Force. Once she earned enough, she would find her own happiness.

"Miss Addison." Lue said softly from behind her. The three of them, Lue, Max and Irving had been standing behind her the moment she stepped out of the house. The night had fallen and temperature was becoming colder.

Raine looked up to the starless sky and stood up. She dusted her dress and straightened her shoulders back before turning around and giving them a slight smile.

"You three probably missed dinner because of me." Raine said as she made her way towards the mansion. "Let's get something to eat."

The three guards looked at each other in a state of worry. They were just part of the security team, they never ate with their boss before, how could they eat with their boss's granddaughter?

When Raine enter the home, she saw that her Grandfather had been sitting in the dark, watching her back while she sat on the stairs alone. Going up to him, she kneels down and hugs him.

"Grandpa, I've been so lost in my grief that I didn't realize that you are also hurting. You've been so strong, taking care of everything while I was selfish. I pushed everything away, only caring about how I felt. They were your family too. You lost them too. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed someone, but I'm here now." Raine said as fresh tears begin to spill down her face.

Monroe sighed heavily. His Granddaughter's words caused the heaviness around his heart feel lighter. However the tears he held back for so long began to trickle down his face.

Raine pulled back to look at Monroe and slowly reached out to wipe his tears away.

"You haven't eaten anything yet, have you?" Raine said as she held both of his hands. "Let's go eat something, even if it's a little."

Monroe sighed heavily and let his granddaughter lead him into the dinning room where dinner was already waiting for them. The head butler, James, and a team of servants stood to the side.

Monroe sat at the head of the table, while Addison sat to his right. They were quickly served food and the both of them ate silently.

"What are you going to do now that you graduated from college?" Monroe asked once he was done with his meal.

"Father wanted me to join the company." Raine said as she reviewed Addison's storyline deeper. "With my love for drawing and degrees in art and computer graphics, he wanted me to join the Creative Department."

Monroe looked at Addison's sad and guilty face and held his opinion back.

"At the time, I didn't want to join the family business. I wanted to make it on my own, start my own business with my friends. We had an argument... I said a lot of harsh words to him... now... our fight seems so trivial." Addison said as she pushed her food around on her plate.

"You don't have to join the family business so soon." Monroe began to say however was quickly shot down by Addison.

"No. I have to. There is no one else to help Grandfather run the company. And there is no one else to take over the company after Grandfather...."

Fresh tears began to fall and she quickly wipes away her tears.

"I am the sole heir to Evermore Corporation, I have to start training as the next CEO. I can't let our legacy disappear or be in the hands of someone else." Addison said with conviction as she looked up at Monroe. "I'll be under your care from now on, Grandfather. Please teach me everything you know."

Monroe looked at his granddaughter that held his gaze. Within it, he could see her determination and he felt a sense of ease within himself. He no longer had a sense of worry over the little girl.

Addison was smart and passionate about her art. However she was reckless with her friends, irresponsible about her commitments, and stubborn as a mule. She also did not have a discerning eye for men.

She was young, beautiful, and single. Her past boyfriends were all losers, in Monroe's eyes. They only wanted her for two reasons. One, her family's connection. Two, her beauty. Her past relationships never lasted long once Monroe secretly got involved.

However the woman before him was no longer that reckless girl he kept his eyes on. The woman in front of him was reborn in the ashes of her family members. Addison had matured overnight, however he felt a sense of loss for the innocence that once held a bright light within her spirit.

"Very well." Monroe said. "I'll train you as the next heiress of Evermore Corporation. Since you asked for this, I don't want to hear any complaints from you."

"There will be none."

"Good." Monroe said as he nodded his head. "Good."
