Their lips opened and their tongues quickly darted out of their mouths.  The hot and wetness of each other’s tongues and mouth caused Ayla to crawl onto the couch and lay on top of Evren.  Her body rubbed against Evren’s body without her command. It was as if her body moved on her own and knew exactly where Evren’s sensitive spots are.

Evren could only hold on to Ayla tightly as Ayla’s hands wandered around Evren’s body, touching her over her several layers of clothes.  Unable to touch Evren’s skin, Ayla growled in frustration, biting Evren’s lips, before biting Evren’s chin and jaw. Her bite marks made its way to her ear, where she licked and sucked Evren’s earlobe before gently biting as well.

Evren could hear Ayla’s heavy breathing and looked up to the ceiling to pray for patience.  Now was not the time to fully take Ayla and make Ayla hers. Ayla’s life was still in danger and Evren had to make sure she knew Bai Yu’s motive, before Evren could be selfish and make Ayla’s hers completely.

Ayla completely stopped her biting when she felt Evren’s frozen, stiff body under her.  Ayla immediately rolled to the ground and sat with her back facing Evren. Her arms wrapped around her knees as she bowed her head, hiding her face.

“Sorry.”  Ayla softly said, however Evren heard Ayla very clearly.  “I forced myself on you when you clearly don’t feel the same way.  I won’t do it again.”

Evren was so surprise at Ayla’s words that Evren couldn’t completely understand what Ayla just said.

“It was all of my imagination that I thought Evren felt the same way as I did.  Because you took care of me so well, I had misunderstood it as you loving me as a woman.  Now I understand that you only took care of me because of the promise you made to my mother.”  Ayla whispered. “Forgive me for taking advantage of your goodwill. This will not happen again.”

Ayla quickly left and did not stop, even when Evren called out her name.  Evren was too surprised and to speak in denial of Ayla’s words and too shocked to stop Ayla from leaving.  It was only when Ayla was gone that Evren stood up and ran after Ayla. However Ayla was nowhere to be seen.

Evren’s heart began to worry about Ayla and she silently cursed herself for being so slow in her reaction towards Ayla’s words.  If she had just spoken up, just once, or stopped her before she left, Evren wouldn’t be in this situation.

Evren looked everywhere for Ayla.  She even circled above Asuman Temple twice, not finding a single shadow of Ayla.  Now she felt her heart really worry about Ayla. Suddenly she had a bad thought, which turned into a bad feeling.

Landing near Elder Sila’s courtyard, Evren walked in and stopped to see a screaming argument between lovers.

“Why now?  Why her?” Nuray shouted at Sila.  “You promised me that you would never pick a direct disciple.  That I was the only disciple that had ever caught your eyes. Was all your words to me, lies?”

“Don’t misconstrue my duties as an Elder and my feelings for you.  I love you-- Ah! High Master Monk Evren! How… I can explain.” Sila shouted suddenly as she caught sight of Evren.

Both Nuray and Sila quickly stopped fighting and bowed at Evren as Evren walked towards them.

“Where is your disciple, Elder Sila?”

“My disciple?”  Elder Sila asked with a confused look on her face.

“I’ll only ask this one last time.  Where is your disciple?”

“What has she done to---”  Sila could only begin to say when a heavy weight fell on her, forcing her and Nuray to kneel.  “Ahhh… I don’t know… She said she wanted to go for a walk. She began her walk towards the North.”

“You have better hope that she does not break any rules or hurts anyone.  If she does, your status as Elder of Asuman Temple will be stripped and you will be thrown out due to your negligence.”

Sila and Nuray could only watch as Evren left just as quickly as she arrived.  Sila quickly fell to her butt as sweat dripped down her temples and forehead. Never had she felt High Master Monk Evren’s strength before.  Now that she has experienced it first hand, she regretted taking Bai Yu as her disciple.

Without warning Sila felt her cheek getting slapped.  Her eyes swung around and saw Nuray’s tears fall down as she stood up straighter.

“You…”

“Nuray…”

“Never say my name ever again.”  Nuray cried as she looked down at Sila. “You are a liar, a cheat, and the lowest scum.  You betrayed your word and your promises to me. You betrayed your duty to Asuman Temple as Elder and you have betrayed even yourself, for that girl. You have lost everything, that you’ve worked so hard for, for that girl.  But most of all, you’ll regret betraying me, as I cut ties with you today. Any lingering feelings I once had for you, will be undone. Any memories spent with you, will be erased. Anything having to do with you, will be swept and thrown away.  You and me are through.”

“Nuray… don’t…”  Sila began to cry.  Her heart felt as if it was being torn to bits.  Her life wasn’t supposed to be this way. She could feel her true fate being slowly undone before her and there was nothing she could do about it.

“I will ascend to the Heavens without you.  And when I look back down, I’ll glance over you as I would a stranger.  Goodbye.”

“Nuray!  Wait!” Sila called out as she quickly stood up and ran after Nuray.  Sila couldn’t understand how things turned out so wrong so quickly. “Nuray!”

Nuray left without looking back.  Even if Sila wanted to grab on to her, Nuray shook her off without looking back.

“No. No. No. No. No.”  Sila shouted as she stopped running after Nuray.

Her life wasn’t supposed to be like this.  The dream of ascending to the heavens with Nuray was quickly wiped clean and the scene of her descending Asuman Temple quickly replaced her good memories.  Sila felt that if she needed to change her fate back, she would have to find her Disciple first.

Sila followed High Master Monk Evren’s trail and felt her heart begin to beat faster.  It was as if she was running against time to change her fate and at the moment, she was losing.
