Raine sat in the VIP section in Pleasure Nightclub, with a drink in her hand. The loud music thumped loudly as the room, packed full of people dancing, flirting, and drinking more alcohol than they could consume.
Upstairs in the VIP area, all of the rooms were already in different stages of orgies. While Raine absorbed the sexual energy that was released in the air, feeding her succubus. Her eyes watched the dancing crowd without an ounce of emotion.
In the last six months that she transmigrated as Addison, she had managed to protect Evermore Company’s reputation as the leading competitor in computer technology and the best innovation in computer games.
With Addison’s memories, Raine was able to push two different gaming projects and launch two new computer games before other companies could launch similar games that they were developing. With her knowledge, Raine also created and submitted an otome game for women and men. It was in the process of development with the expected release date in another three months.
Because who Addison is, she was constantly being followed by reporters, trying to get the next new gossip on her. The only scandal that they could find was that she attended Pleasure Nightclub every night, however there were insider reports and grainy photographs of her drinking alone in the VIP area.
Her connection with Craig Leafheart and Silver Starnett caused a controversy at first, however it was quickly swept under the rug when it was revealed that the three of them had been friends since they were kids.
Since the last time that Kaden Gamble “rescued” Addison, he had tried several times to have a “spontaneous,” “coincidental” and “fated” second meeting. However due to Raine’s “forgetful” memory, she didn’t acknowledge him and with the help of her bodyguards, they were able to block him from coming closer to her in different situations.
Which was exactly the situation Raine was in at the moment. No one, other than Silver and Craig could enter the VIP room without her consent. Anyone else who wanted to join her was stopped at the velvet ropes by Max and Luther.
Even her bottle of whiskey and water bottles were brought up by a waitress, however the tray would be handed off to Luther, who would then place the tray inside of the VIP room, in front of Raine.
Her security detail was tight everywhere she went, although unbeknownst to her for the first two months living as Addison, she finally found out that there were an additional six hidden bodyguards who followed her wherever she went.
Right outside of the VIP entrance to her room, stood no other than Kaden Gamble with a drink in his hand. Luther hand his hand up to stop Kaden’s “drunken” advance towards her.
“Sir, you are not welcome here. Turn around and go back to where you came from.”
“Addison and I know each other.” Kaden shouted loudly so Addison could also hear him. “We know each other.”
Addison turned her head slightly at the commotion at the entrance and turned back to her drink and the crowd.
“We’ve met remember? I saved you from falling at Chez Luis. We also go to the same coffee shop and bookstore.” Kaden said desperately as he yelled at Addison to get her attention.
Kaden watched with anticipation as Addison stood up and placed her drink on the table before walking towards him.
“What? You save me from falling down once and you want a gold metal now? You want money for the good deed you did, so you follow me to different places in hopes to collect on some prize?” Addison said as she coldly glared at him. “Or did you hope that I fall in love with you for your chivalrous ways, your handsome looks, or your healthy physique? Which is it what you want from me? My money or my body?”
Addison opens her purse and pulls out a stack of money totaling over $1000 and throws it above Kaden’s head, letting the money fall down.
“Here’s the reward that you were seeking for catching my fall. Keep on pestering me and I’ll file a report with the police for stalking. As for my body, that is something you can only wish you can have, because you’re not worthy to even touch me.”
“You misunderstand me, I don’t want either.” Kaden quickly retorted as he held his anger inside. He felt humiliated by Addison’s words and actions. He wanted to leave, however he had a mission to complete and had to endure Addison’s vicious words.
“And yet, you constantly want to get into contact with me. You know several places that I like to go to, which means you’re either obsessively infatuated with me or you have ill intentions towards me. Take the money and leave. I don’t want to see you again. I don’t even want to breathe the same air as you again. By chance if you do see me, turn around and walk away. I’m not interested and will never be interested in you.”
Kaden sighed heavily and turned away, he walked a few steps then truned right back around towards Addison with a face full of anger.
“I see you, you know.” Kaden said as he tried to reach out to Addisaon for his last resort. “You’re not the person the media has written about you. You’re not the party animal, pretentious heiress that everyone believes you to be. You’re totally different from that. You’re a strong person. Probably the strongest person I’ve ever met. The lost of your family caused you to push everyone away, fearing that everyone will leave you one day. You feel so alone so you come here not feel so lonely. You have a shield wrapped around yourself that no one can penetrate it. After our first meeting, I just thought you needed a friend.”
Addison looked at Kaden for a long time before bringing her hands up. She slowly clapped for Kaden’s last ditch effort to win her trust and affections. Once her slow clap came to an end, Addison yawned and covered her mouth.
“What a boring, cliche speech to win over the sad, hurt, lonely, rich heiress. You should have collected your prize money and left. Instead you spout cliche words about me and my psyche, thinking that it’ll win you brownie points? That recognize how genuine you are and I’ll fall in love with you? Ha! Don’t embarrass yourself more than you already have. Come within sight of me or my bodyguards again, and I’ll file a report with the police.”
Kaden’s soft eyes quickly became hard as he threw her a hateful glare and walked away without any semblance of being intoxicated by alcohol.
Max whistled long and loud before he turned around to look at Addison.
“Miss Addison, you’re one stone cold hearted bitch…. I wouldn’t want to work for you, no other way.”
Max’s slight smile caused Addison’s eyebrow to raise.
“Men like him are nothing, but vermin.” Addison said as she watched Craig and Silver walk towards her. “Especially, undercover agents who want to use me.”
“What did you say?” Luther asked with a surprise look on his face. “That man is an undercover agent??”
“Special Agent Kaden Gambles of the FBI. Keep your eyes out on other men or women who want to have a “fated” meeting with me or Grandfather.”
“Of course.” Luther said as he quickly took out his phone and began texting an encrypted email.
