Lizzie left in a huff, not answering Tyler’s call for her to stop so he could explain.  Lizzie couldn’t care at the moment. Her heart felt so heavy towards Violet. She felt she owed Violet too much.

For every wrong and selfish choice she made, she felt such guilt over the years, however she couldn’t stop herself.  She and Tyler were high school sweethearts, however they had to break up due to Tyler’s family company failing. Tyler married Eva Brown to help revive his family’s company and she too moved on with her life.

York was not her biological son, he was five years old when she married York’s father.  However after 5 years of marriage, York’s father passed away, causing their family to become poor.  She tried the best she could to support the two and it was hard. However one day, Tyler walked back into her life and was their savior.

He supported them, sending York to a good school, they lived in a nice apartment, and they didn’t have to struggle so much anymore.  However she became his mistress in return. He would come back to the apartment that they lived in and vent to her about Eva and Violet.  For seven years, she was his mistress because her love for Tyler was selfish.

When she found out how Eva died and how Violet was the one who found Eva, her guilty conscious couldn’t handle it anymore.  She promised that however Violet treated her in the future, it was her punishment for the sin she committed against Violet and Eva.

When she met Violet, she was surprised that Violet didn’t hit her or yell at her.  Instead she straightforwardly said was on her mind and told them off with a calm voice.  Violet left before Lizzie could apologize to Violet. She had hope that she would have a chance to make it up to Violet and hopefully one day be forgiven.  She had also hope to get along with Violet, even though it would have been hard.

But most of all, she wished that the four of them would be a family.  At Eva’s grave, she begged for forgiveness and promised to take care of Violet.  However when Violet left, she left without a word and never looked back.

Throughout the 8 years, she came to find out that Violet was a smart, independent and a thoughtful girl.  Even though she left, she still thought about those who she left behind. Her gifts that she sent them every year were gifts that they all cherished.  However, never once had she have a chance to speak to her alone and ask for forgiveness.

That day that Violet left, she had heard everything that Violet said to York.  She too went to Violet’s room to try to persuade her to stay, however she overheard everything that Violet said and could not force her to stay.  Violet had made up her mind and there was no one who could change her mind.

Now that she was back, for the first time in eight years, she could feel how happy Tyler was when they noticed that she came back for his birthday party.  But he had to ruin everything. Why couldn’t he say a single word of praise to Violet! Why did his temperment change so drastically, every time Violet was near?

Lizzie could not let Violet leave like this.  She needed to fix the broken home she help break.  She need to make things right. However she was a step too late.  Violet was nowhere to be seen by the time she made it out of the venue room.  She even went to the hotel lobby to see if she could catch Violet, however not a trace of Violet’s presence could be seen.  Lizzie even asked the workers and they didn’t see her either. It was as if she disappeared into air.

“Mom.”  York said as he came out as well.

He too wanted to chase after Violet, however with his mom leaving first, he had to let Tyler know about his displeasure.  Even if he made Tyler lose face in front of everyone, he couldn’t help himself. Tyler was a fool and he couldn’t let Tyler hurt Violet anymore, even if Tyler is Violet’s father.

“She’s gone.”  Lizzie said as tears threaten to fall.  “I couldn’t catch up with her in time. She’s gone and no one here knows where she is.”

“Mom.”

“She’s going to leave us again and this time she’ll never come back.  What should we do, York? She has no one, but us.”

York hugged Lizzie and to stop her from speaking out loud what his fears and insecurities were screaming out from inside of him.  He couldn’t stand the thought of Violet disappearing and never coming back. It brought too much fear to his soul and it made it unbearable to stay still.  He began to panic and squeezed Lizzie tighter.

“York, you’re hurting me.”  Lizzie said as she tried to pull away.

“Sorry, Mom.”  York quickly let her go.  “I was just worried.”

“It’s okay. It’ll be alright. It’ll work out somehow.”

York took a breath to calm his nerves.  He reminded himself of their talk in the garden.

“She won’t leave so soon.”  York told his mother. “She’ll stay for at least another 3 months.”

“How do you know?”

“I’ve hired her as a consultant for Tate Inc.  She will be going to the company to sign the contract tomorrow.”

“What do you mean?  Doesn’t she want to become the President and take over Tate Inc?  It’s her birthright.”

“After what happened in there, do you think she wants anything from Tyler?”  York told her. “She made it quite clear when she left 8 years ago with just her inheritance and created a successful business all by herself.  Even her company surprasses Tate Inc. Why would she want Tate Inc. when she has full control of Luna Corp?

“Tyler won’t be happy to hear that Violet doesn’t want to take over Tate Inc.”  Lizzie confessed.

“I spoke to Violet in the garden, she made it clear she doesn’t want to be the next President of Tate Inc.”

“And now, she wouldn’t want anything to do with her Father or us anymore.”  Lizzie worried. “You can’t let her leave, you hear me, York. You have to make her want to stay.  Do whatever you have to do, to make her stay. If she leaves, she’ll be alone. She has no one else.  You have to find a way to make her stay. Promise me.”

“I promise.”
