Evren’s eyes tighten with even more displeasure and before Evren could speak, Naz spoke up as well.  

“That is a good idea.”  Naz said without thinking.  “This courtyard is reserved for the 1st direct disciple for the High Master Monk of Asuman Temple.  Seeing how High Master Monk Evren does not have a 1st direct disciple, Junior Disciple Bai Yu and Young Miss Ayla can share this space--”

Naz stopped talking the moment she felt the angry air and killing intent hit her.  Her knees trembled and immediately she fell to the ground, kneeling in front of Evren and Ayla.  Her head bent down as her body shivered.

“Junior Disciple Sister Naz apologizes for speaking out of turn.”  Naz said as she felt a heavy weight pin her down.

“What is Ayla’s identity here in Asuman Temple?”  Evren reminded Naz, seeing how Naz has forgotten about manners and hierarchy.  

“High Master Monk Ece’s adoptive daughter.”  Naz answered as she felt her inner organs being squeezed.  

“You and I both know how much Master loves and cherishes Ayla.”  Evren said without looking at the two kneeling people. “Master also placed Ayla’s well being in my hands as well as your hands.  Or have you forgotten?”

“Junior Disciple Sister remembers.”   Naz quickly answered.

“Then why is it that you have suggested something so ill fitting for Ayla?  How can you suggest letting an outsider live with Ayla and dirty Ayla’s eyes?  Your suggestion has thrown dirty water on Master’s wishes and how can you face Master once you reach Enlightenment and ascend to Heaven?  Master is probably watching this very moment and is looking down at you.”

“Please forgive me.  I misspoke.” Naz said as she bowed her head until her forehead hit the ground.  The heavy weight around her, forced her head to be planted on the ground. She couldn’t even raise her head, even if she wanted to.  

“This courtyard is reserved for Hight Master Monk’s 1st Disciple.  This has been the tradition for over 100,000 years. A new student or inner disciple cannot just occupy this courtyard.  This rule is also applied to the other courtyards within High Master Monk’s territory. Should there be no direct disciple, the courtyards would remain empty and clean.”  Evren said as her eyes glared between Bai Yu and Naz. “I had let you stay in your courtyard because you are my Direct Junior Disciple Sister. I had thought that it would be easier for you to fulfill your word to Master Ece, to protect and watch after Ayla, if you lived closed by.  But it seems as if you have already forgotten your promise.”

“I haven’t forgotten.”  Naz began to plead. Why did she even speak up for Bai Yu?  She doesn’t even know Bai Yu, nor even trust her. Why did she suggest such a thing as Bai Yu sharing this courtyard with Ayla.  

“You have disappointed me, Junior Disciple Sister Naz.  You only have a week left before you go on your exploration of the world, take this time to move out of the High Master Monk’s reserved courtyards for direct disciples and into a new place in Asuman Temple.  For the rest of the week, meditate and pray for forgiveness from Master Ece, for your disloyalty. When it is time for you to leave, go and explore the outside world. When you come back in a year, I hope to meet my Direct Junior Disciple Sister again.  One who remembers her promises. One who doesn’t disappoints me.”

“This Junior Disciple Sister will do as High Master Monk Evren orders and will not let High Master Monk Evren’s expectation down.”  

“As for you, New Student Bai Yu.  To have suggest such at thing as to stay with Ayla so thoughtlessly, makes me believe that you will not fit with Asuman Temple’s teachings.”     

“Please forgive me, High Master Monk Evren.  This New Student did not know that this courtyard was occupied by the Honorable Daughter Ayla.  It was this New Student's ignorance that caused this misunderstanding. Please do not blame Senior Disciple Naz for this Student’s ignorance.  Please punish this New Student instead.”

Raine’s right eyebrow were slightly raised with entertainment.  Seems like Bai Yu finally learned how to properly speak and act.  However her Green Tea Bitch ways still shined brightly. She still needed more practice to hide her two face ways.  

“Evren.”  Ayla spoke out as she looked between Bai Yu and Naz.  “Since there is no more room in Asuman Temple to house the students and disciples, maybe the rules of reserving these courtyards for direct disciples of High Master Monk’s should be amended to accommodate the surplus of students.  Besides, I’m sure Naz just misspoke. Please do not be disheartened by her remarks.”

Evren turned to Ayla and brushed her hair back from her face.  

“Little Ayla, you are too much of a good girl.  To speak up on behalf of Junior Disciple Sister Naz as well as New Student Bai Yu, makes my heart warm yet it worries for you.  Your innocence can be easily taken advantage of by those with ill intent. Rules are rules for a reason. It must be held for peace and order.”  

“Forgive me.”  Ayla said softly as she pulled back from Evren’s touch.  “I…”

“There is nothing to forgive.  You did nothing wrong.” Evren told her as she quickly hooked her arm around Ayla’s shoulders, bringing Ayla closer to her body.

Bai Yu saw the scene and wanted to scream out and kill Ame.  Now Ame was playing at not knowing rules and not following the rules!  Why wasn’t Ame punished for her lack of knowledge and Bai Yu being punished for the same reason!  It wasn’t fair!

“The both of you will speak with Elder Irmak, she is in charge of room and board.  To come directly to me with this small issue means that you do not hold Elder Irmak in respect.  You guys must think that Elder Irmak is incompetent.”

“No!  We did not intend for this to happen!”  Bai Yu shouted as she kowtowed as well. “I did not know who to go to once the infestation of the room was discovered.  And I did know anyone else here in Asuman Temple. I just so happen to run into Senior Disciple Sister Naz and we came here without any thoughts.  We meant no disrespect to Elder Irmak.”

“Even if you didn’t know the rules or know anyone here.  Junior Disciple Naz does know the rules and know the proper protocols.  She should have guided you to Elder Irmak. And now, the two of you will have to be punished for your thoughtless actions and words.”  Evren told them. “As High Master Monk here, my time is precious and you both have wasted my time with this insignificant matter. You both have also insulted High Master Monk Ece’s daughter.  You both will bare the consequences.”

Evren looked between Naz and Bai Yu before she began talking again.  

“Junior Disciple Sister Naz, I have already passed your judgement, go now and pack up your belongings.  I want you out of the reserved direct disciple courtyards by tonight. As for you, New Student Bai Yu, you are to read and copy Asuman Temple’s Rules and Teachings 100 times.  Once you are done, turn your work in to Elder Irmak. Only then can you begin taking classes here at Asuman Temple.”

“Yes, High Master Monk Evren.”  Both Naz and Bai Yu said at the same time.  

“Go now, I do not want to see your faces for a year.”  

The heavy air around Naz and Bai Yu lifted and the both of them could finally take a huge breath.  However they did not stay long as they bowed to Evren once again before leaving together.

“Now that these courtyards are empty, you will not be bothered.”  Evren told Ayla. “Since Junior Disciple Sister Naz can not help look after you, you must move in with me to ensure your safety.”  

Ayla nodded her head to agree to Evren’s words, but Raine knew the truth.  Lui Wei just wanted her to be by his side 24/7 so he could keep an eye on her.  It would also be easier for him to seduce her. Once a slag man, always a slag man.  

But this slag man, was her slag man.  He was someone who still protected her, was possessive of her, who loved her.  The only thing she could do is accept him and let him take care of her as she lives a lazy life.
