Raine’s eyes opened and she immediately clung to the tree that she was tied to. She looked down at her feet as was scared for the first time since her transmigrating mission started.
Below her was a small group of men, women and children, all trying to climb up the tree that she sat in. The smell of rotten flesh and blood made Raine gag, but there was nothing inside of her stomach to throw up. The state of the zombies, the dirty and blood stained clothes, the falling grey skin, and the constant oozing puss on their faces made Raine look away.
The scene will haunt her memories forever.
“Scam System, show me the ‘Last Dying Wish’ request.” Raine grumbled as she looked up into the night sky, hoping to see stars to help guide her out of her situation.
Echo Knox woke up in a hospital to a nightmare. The last thing she remembered was getting into a car accident, anything before the car accident, was blank in her mind.
She could only remember herself driving in a car and feeling anxious. She was in danger and so she ran a red light, causing a car crash. When she woke up in the hospital, the sound of people running, screaming and fighting could be heard outside her door.
Echo, laid in bed quietly for two days, afraid to leave her room. When she left her room, she saw the destruction of the hospital. The halls were filled with blood, limbs and debris. It was then, she saw her first zombie and ran from it.
She had managed to escape the hospital and soon found some clothes and shoes from an apartment near by. Afterwards, she slowly gathered supplies and moved quietly out of the city and into the country.
On her way, she met a group of survivors who were at first wary of her, then slowly let her join the group after saving some members. She traveled with the group for four months, they had split up in the forest, to forage for food, however the group left her behind because they quickly became surrounded by zombies in the forest.
Echo soon died by the small herd of zombies and died with regret.
She wished she could remember who she was before the car accident, and find out why she was running away.
Raine has transmigrated into Echo’s body just when Echo’s group left her in the forest. Echo had died two days later when she tried to fight the small group that had become a small herd.
Raine looked down as the zombies under her that were gathering. Their grunting and groaning was like a call to arms for the zombies. Raine checked over her gear and was happy to see that she had a machete, a canteen of water, an extra pair of socks, jeans and t-shirt as well as the rope that tied her to the tree.
Raine untied herself and placed the rope inside of her bag and stood up with her machete hanging off her belt. Raine smiled slyly as she looked down at the zombies. With her Natural Magic, she could easily survive the zombie apocalypse.
Not wanting to draw more attention to herself, especially at night, she did not use fire to burn the zombies, but instead, she opened the ground beneath them and buried them several hundred feet under the ground.
Raine waited for another ten minutes, to ensure no more zombies came her way.
“Scam System, scan the area for zombies, identify them on a map for me.”
The ghostly sphere quickly left and appeared as a transparent screen showed her a map of her surroundings. There were several red dots blinking around her.
Raine quickly climbed down the tree and made her way north. The Fall wind made the night colder as Raine silently ran through the forest.
“Scam System, do you have skills like, Endurance, Power up, Speed or Extra Strength?”
[Yes, however Host is not qualified yet to learn those skills.]
Raine kept her sense alert as she quickly and quietly moved through the forest. When ever she encountered a zombie, she would hack it down with her machete, however if there were more than two zombies, she would make a detour around them.
Echo’s body was not strong enough to handle such rigorous actions. Raine traveled ten miles that night and rested in a tree. She tied herself to the tree and quickly fell asleep, letting the day pass by as she traveled at night.
On her second night, she was able to find berries to eat. She filled her belly full of berries and also saved some for later. When there was a river or stream, she refilled her water canteen and wiped off the sweat around her neck, face and hands.
She really didn’t know where she was or why she was traveling North, but she felt as if going North was the right answer.
After two weeks, Raine quickly adjusted to her new world and tried to cultivate magic energy into her body, however there was very little magic engery in the air for her to absorb into her body.
For her succubus to survive, she had used her desire powers on zombies, and found that it could influence them into having a zombie orgy, which she in turn absorbed the sexual energy from them. The zombies were like puppets under her succubus powers and her situation wasn’t so good that she could find other humans to help her succubus eat.
After a month, she met the first wildlife in a long time. She had just crossed a small stream and there was a light snow falling. Winter had arrived and she was still in a thin jacket, a shirt and jeans. Her shoes were also torn and wearing down. She had to find a town or a house to replace her clothes, or she’ll freeze.
Raine stopped in her tracks when she saw an injured animal leaning against the tree. The black and grey wolf pup was whimpering softly as he licked his wound. Raine slowly walked up to the little wolf with her hands out.
“Hush.” Raine slowly said as she came closer to the wolf.
The wolf began to growl to warn her off, but with Raine’s Animal Whisperer Skill, she was able to read it’s body language and knew that the little pup was just trying to warn her off because he was wary of strangers.
“I won’t hurt you, I promise. I just want to help you.” Raine told the little pup.
