His pouting was so cute, she couldn’t help herself to tease him.

“You really don’t want to know?  Are you sure? It’s a good one.” Raine began to tempt her Scam System.  “Even her own System is affected. You sure you don’t want to know?”

The pouting cat quickly whips his head around and his large eyes open wider.  His pleading gaze held some water inside of it as he pleadingly looked at her for her answer.

“Come here first and I’ll tell you.”  Raine told him as she brushed the wood dust off of the table to make room for her pouting system.

The came slowly crept over as cautiously as he could and sat in the spot Raine made for him.  Raine’s hand came up and he unconsciously cowered at her hand coming towards him. Once her hand gently reaches his neck, she pats head gently before scratching his jaw and neck.  A purr begans to vibrate from his vocal cords.

“I gifted her sweet surprise to her long ago.”  Raine confessed as she scratched the cat behind his ears.  “On the night of her system’s birthday celebration, I gave them a gift that she yearned for.”

[The white jade zither?]

“That’s right.  The white jade was dipped in a the essence of a flower called Joyful Delight.  Alone, the flower brings a unique scent and causes a person to become peaceful and relaxed.  However the cords are dipped in a plant essence called Delight’s Downfall. Once Joyful Delight and Delight’s Downfall are mixed together, the two will create a slow acting poisonous reaction.  The Empress really wanted a zither for her own. However once she knew that the Emperor liked Linqin, she was conflicted over keeping the zither or not. However, the Empress was always one who kept her enemies close to her, causing her to keep the zither nearby, as a reminder of her hatred to kill me.   Somedays she couldn’t keep her hands off of the zither, touching it and plucking it. And once the zither and the strings were touched, the poison entered her body immediately and began dispersing the poison until it was ready to unleash itself fully.”

Scam shivered underneath her soft caresses.  It was as if she was patting him goodbye. Not only has his host become shameless, but she has also become deeply scheming.  Hiding her moves and making them long before he could foretell her moves. If she could plan so far in advance to ensure her successful mission, without him noticing, what else can she do without him seeing through her schemes? He was built to help her, however she only lets him do the small jobs, while she takes on the big jobs by herself.  Their work relationship felt uneven which caused him to feel sad. Did she not let him do more in their missions because she found him unreliable?

“I did a good job, huh?!?  I bet you didn’t see that one coming?!?”  Raine bragged.

[Do you think I’m unreliable?]  Scam suddenly blurted out.

Raine made a confused face before answering her Scam cat who felt uneasy.

“When we first began our journey, you were totally unreliable.”  Raine confessed.

The black can suddenly let out a loud and heavy sigh as he looked down to the ground and his shoulders fell down.  His big sad eyes looked as if he was going to cry.

[What about now?]  He softly asked.  He acted as if her answer would hurt him even more.

“Now, you’re not so bad.”  Raid told him truthfully. “You’re a lot better now.  After your hacking and illegal upgrading yourself, you’re so much better to be around with now.”

[That was just the last transmigration mission!] Scam shouted at Raine as he lost all will to hold himself up and fell into a black ball on the table.  [The whole time, I thought we got a long fine and I thought I was useful to you on all of your missions. To find out that I just began being useful to you when I hacked into Headquarters and upgraded myself to the highest level.]
