Immortal (18)

Evren found her way back to the courtyard reserved for 1st direct disciple for the High Master Monk.  The protective barrier was once again tampered with and Evren quickly flew towards her first home she shared with Ayla. 

What she saw chilled her bones to the core and lit her anger immediately.  Ayla was bound to a peach blossom tree and she was bleeding as Bai Yu held a dagger in her hand. 

Her maniacal laughter could be heard as she slashed Ayla's face and body. 

"You're finally in my hands!"  Bai Yu shouted as she cut Ayla's face up.  "Now that you're deformed, no one would want you.  Not even Lui Wei."

"Ahhhhhh! Stop!  Please! Why are you doing this!"   Ayla pleaded as she cried out in pain.   

"You took Lui Wei away from me.  Now I'll take make sure you'll never come between us.  Between you and I, one of us cannot exist with the other.  Once you're dead, he'll love me again."

"What are you talking about?"  Ayla cried out as glared at Bai Yu.  "Who's Lui Wei? I don't know anyone by that name!" 

"Lair!  You took him away from me!  Now he follows you wherever you go!  Now you pretend that you don't know him!" 

"Stop!"  Ayla yelled as Bai Yu sliced the dagger again towards Ayla's face, however Bai Yu's hand was immediately frozen by a invisible weight. 

Bai Yu felt the heavy weight on her body as she immediately knelt with surprise.  From the corner of her eye she could see the white robe of Evren step forward and quickly sliced the ropes that held Ayla to the tree.

Ayla's crying was quickly muffled as Evrenn held Ayla to her body. 

"You dare hurt Ayla?"  Evren calmly said as she held Ayla's trembling body tighter.  "You dare disfigure her and want to kill her? Why?"

Soon there was another body who landed not far from the incident.  Elder Sila came forward and saw the crime scene and she stood back listening.  Her fate as Edler of Asuman Temple was sealed. Bai Yu had captured, wounded and tried to kill Ayla.  Bai Yu's actions were caught by High Master Monk Evren, herself, there would be no denying of Bai Yu's crimes. 

Evren took a pill from the glass vial on her belt and gave Ayla three pills to swallow.  Ayla ate the pills without a word and quickly fell asleep. Evren scooped Ayla into her arms and glared at Bai Yu.

"She took something precious from me.  I wanted to kill her so I could have it back."  Bai Yu screamed out with hatred.

"And what is it that you think she took away from you?"

"You!"  Bai Yu shouted.  "She took you away from me!  You belonged to me first! You loved me first!  You were suppose to only love me! Only protect me!  Only cherish me! Until our dying days, you were only supposed to be with me." 

"I've only met you a year ago.  How is it that Ayla took me away from you when I've known her for a longer time?" 

"From before all this!"  Bai Yu cried out. "Before you were Evren, you were once Lui Wei!  You were my Lui Wei! My husband, my lover, my protector! You only saw me and only loved me, until she changed.  And when she changed, you changed. That was when she took you away from me! That is why I followed you, like you followed her into this life and why I wanted her dead!" 

Evren turned over to look at Elder Sila and without a word, Elder Sila knew that there was nothing she could do or say to save Bai Yu.  Elder Sila left just as silently as she came. When she left, she left with none of her belongings. She left Asuman Temple, walking 888 steps down the mountain, descending back down to a mortal life.  Forever regretting her decisions in life. Forever remembering a life that once could have been. And forever remembering a beautiful face that once looked at her with so much love.

Evren gently laid Ayla down and wiped Ayla's face.  The medicine that Evren gave to Ayla had stopped the blood and close the wounds on her body.  Evren paid no mind to Bai Yu's evil laughter as Evren gently wrapped Ayla's face with her 2nd inner robe that she ripped into strips. 

Once Ayla's face and body was wrapped up, Evren turned her head towards Bai Yu.  Evren walked towards her and took the dagger from Bai Yu's hand and knelt down, facing Bai Yu.  Evren looked down at the dagger in her hand and looked back at Bai Yu without any emotions. Her eyes held no soul, no emotion, and no thoughts to it as she spoke slowly and lowly. 

"What makes you think you deserve to be with this King?"

Bai Yu's eyes widen in surprise.  Lui Wei actually remembers his past life and was just pretending the whole time. 

"You have betrayed this King with this King's own Prince Brother!  You had his bastard child! What makes you think you're worthy to be by this King's side?  To have this King love you, this King's protection and have this King cherish you?"

"Forgive me Lui Wei!  I was tricked! Lui Long tricked me." 

"Ha!  Do you think this King is so foolish believe your lies?  This King investigated you and found out about your betrayal.  This King could not forgive you, so this King sentence you, Prince Lui Long and your bastard son to death.  What makes you think I want to be with you again?"

"I love you, Lui Wei...." 

"Everything this King thought this KIng knew about you was a lie.  Everything that you did for this King, was a lie. Everything that you said to this King, was a lie.  I killed you then, because I wanted to end our ties together. I no longer wanted to meet you again in our next life.  So I broke our fates that tied to one another and yet, you've followed me through space and time to tie yourself to me again.  How ignorant and delusional are you? The reason I followed her, why I tied myself to her instead of reincarnating, is because I knew I would never be able to find her if I did choose to reincarnate.  I would rather be a wandering soul, next to her than be reincarnated and never seeing her again."

"You don't mean that..." 

"This King killed you once before.  This King can kill you again."

"No!  Please Lui Wei!  Wait!"

"I never want to see you again.  Don't ever follow me and attach yourself to me ever again. You will never come close to me or Ame ever again!" 

"I lov---" Bai Yu could only say before the dagger in Evren's hand stabbed her in the heart.  The dagger twisted and once it was pulled, blood sprayed out on to the peach blossom tree that once tied Ayla to its trunk.  

Evren immediately let the limp body fall down to the ground.  That once innocent, pure face that he loved so much, he now hated with a passion. Bai Yu could never be Ame and Ame could never be Bai Yu.
