Suddenly, without a word, tears began to fall.

“Elise?”  Rose worriedly asked as she placed her fork and knife down.  “What’s wrong?”

“I….”  Elise said as she quickly shook her head from side to side.  “I suddenly thought about Grandpa and it made me sad.”

“Sweetheart.”  Rose said as she got up and hugged Elise.  “It’s a good thing to cry for your loved ones.  The memories and lessons you share with them will never be forgotten.  We’re also your family now, so don’t be so sad, alright?”

Elise nods her head and wipes away the tears.

“I would like to be excused.”  Elise asked.

“Of course.”  Rose said as she pulled away.

“Can you send word to the clinic that I will be late.  I don’t want them to see me this way.”

“Of course, darling.  Anything else you want?”

“No.  Thank you.”  Elise quickly left the dining room with a run.

Her unladylike manner caused the Devereux's to worry about her more.  However they sighed loudly and cursed their dumb son for running away from his problems instead of facing them.  Had Axel gave Elise a chance, he would have fallen in love with Elise and they would have at least 2 children by now. Now that the both of them were on their own path, all they could do is hope that they are safe and happy.

Raine closed the door to her room and calmed herself before selecting ‘Yes.’

Raine did as the last notification said and walked to the window.  Below her window is the open courtyard that was filled with guards.  There was a single guard, with black, shoulder length, wavy hair. That was sleek as black silk.  His eyebrows nicely framed his deep set aqua eyes and his straight nose lead down to his kissable lips.  His high cheekbones cuts his features nicely, giving him a dangerous flare.

He wore a training issued uniform and held a sword by his side.  His had one hand waving at her as he smiled brightly back at her.

[I’m back!  Did you miss me?  Did you worry about me?  Were you lonely?]

“Put your hand down, dumby!”  Raine told him as she took a step back from the window so no one could see her.  She hid to the side of the wall and peeked to the side of the window so she could see her Scam System.  “You clean up nicely, Scam.”

[Now that I have successfully upgraded myself, can you name me something else?]

“No.”

[Why not?!?  I’m the almighty, powerful system now!  I can issue Hidden Side Missions for you to earn Soul Force Points as well as other achievements!  A powerful system deserves a powerful, respectable name!]

"Once a scam, always a scam!”  Raine teased him as she smiled.  “Besides, your name being Scam will humble you, even though your the almighty powerful system, that deserves respect.”

[You do hold a grudge don’t you?]  He complained as he kicked the dirt on the ground.

“Which reminds me, I promised you an ass kicking once you’re able to turn into a human.  Wait for me as I change! You better not move or run away!”

Raine quickly changed and ran downstairs.  Whe she reached outside where Scam stood, the smile of Scam’s face could not be hidden as Raine walks up to him with a smile on her face.

“You won’t really kick my ass wou---”

Before Scam could finish his arrogant statement, Raine punches him in the face with all of her might.  Her enhanced physical strength sent him down to the ground with one hit.

The whole training crowd stopped what they were doing and watched in awe as the nice, sweet, genial Young Lady Elise, hit a training soldier and almost knocked him out with one punch.

Had it been someone else, they would have died, however with her upgraded, all powerful and almighty system, he just shook his head as if he was slightly confused.  While holding his jaw he turns back to Raine and smiles even more.

“That was one hell of a punch.”  Scam said as he rubbed his jaw.

“Yeah, well you deserved it.  I’m saving the rest of your ass kicking for later.”  Raine told him as she put out her hand to help him stand up.

Scam reaches out and grabs a hold of her hand and stands up.

“Well… you did warn me.... and I did have it coming...”

“Come on, follow me to the clinic, I’ll put medicine on it.”  Raine told him as they walk out of the courtyard and towards the clinic.
