The Lazy Life Of Raine

Raine pulled her hand from her lap and placed it on the table.  Blaine reaches out and holds on to her hand and squeezes it. His smile could hardly be contained as his eyes glued themselves on their hands touching.  

“There you are.”  Blaine said as he looked up to Willow.  “There’s my Raine.”

Raine’s eyes widen in surprise.  How does he know her real name? A feeling of panic gripped her heart as she tries to pull back her hand.  However with Blaine’s hold on her hand, she fails.

“Don’t panic.”  Blaine said as he gripped on to her more tightly.  “Don’t panic.”

Raine began to breathe in deep breaths as she collected herself.  Lui Wei reaches over and hugs her,  the familir scent begins to calm her down even more.  She needed answers. And to get answers she needed to be calm.  Raine pulls away and takes a good look at him. 

“How?  How do you know my real name?”  Raine asked. “And what should I call you?”

“My real name is Isao.  ‘Last Dying Wish’ System’s first Host.”  Isao told Raine. “When my Soul Force reached 100,000, Headquarters granted me my wish.”  

“What did you wish for?”  Raine whispered.

“I wished to tie myself to my system, travel through the worlds with my soulmate, for all lifetimes, never departing or separating.  I wished that my soulmate would be tied to my system as well and that our souls would always recognize each other.”

“That’s two wishes.”  Raine argued.

“Haven’t you realize during your missions that each ‘Last Dying Wish’ that you had to grant, was two wishes and not one?”  Isao told her. “Last Dying Wish” isn’t just the last wish, but the last desire of each person before they die.”

“Oh…I didn’t realize that.”  Raine admitted. “But… how do you know my name?  Why is it that Scam doesn’t remember you? Why is he missing memories?”  

“You don’t recognize my name?  Isao? Isao Hino your---”

“Lawyer.”  Raine answered for him.  

Isao smiled gently at her.  

“That’s right.  By the time I got to you, you were already dying.  Once I completed your Will, I went to visit you in the hospital, but you had already died. Your soul was leaving and I split System in half.  Half a system inside of me and the other half inside of you. Before I could bring you to my side, to complete our systems, I was attacked by Headquarters and forced to flee to draw the fight away from you and on to me.  But I knew it would be okay, because you held the other half of my system, so I could follow you wherever you go.”

“Why is it that you can’t remember anything?”  

“My System and I was damage---”  

Boom!  The side of the restaurant exploded.  Isao could only try to cover Raine's body with his own. The building broke into pieces as rubble fell down on everyone inside of the restaurant.  Raine’s ears began to ring loudly and she quickly lowered the volume to her hearing. The heavy body on top of her was breathing as dust and rubble fall on top of them.  

Raine watched with horror as a large piece of rubble was going to fall on top of them.  Suddenly Scam shows up and catches the rubble on his back. Scam reaches down and takes Isao and Raine into his arms and shoots out of the restaurant.  They escaped through the broken wall and straight into a group of robots.

The six robots had human features, however their skin was metal.  

“Halt.”  One of the robots ordered.  “By Headquarters order, Host Isao, Host Raine, and ‘Last Dying Wish’ System:  known as Odan, also known as Scam System, is hereby ordered to be detained.  If they cannot be detained, they will be eliminated.”

“Let me down.”  Raine said as she realize the situation she was in.  Although she has not processed everything that Isao has told her, she knew her life, Isao’s life and Scam’s life was in danger.  

Scam let Raine stand as he placed an unconscious Isao on his shoulder.  Raine drew her sword, Transcendence, out of her S Level Space Ring and held it in front of her.

“Put the weapon down, or we will be forced to hurt you.”  The same robot told her.

Raine sprinted forward, not caring what they had to say.  She swung her sword in an arch and made contact with the closest robot.  Her sword, cut through the robot’s arm, however it stopped. Whatever the robot was made out of, her sword was not sharp enough to completely cut through it.  

Raine pulled her sword back, kicking the robot’s chest.  Her momentum caused her sword to slice the robot’s arm, bringing damage but not chopping it off completely.  

Raine swung her sword to the on coming robot.  She lit her sword with lightning. Transcendence made contact with the robot and this time, the robot short circuited.  It’s body shook and shivered until Raine pulled her sword away and it fell down on the ground.

Raine raise her Natural Magic and cracked open the pavement.  From the opening, mud rose up from the ground and reached out to the robots, slowing them down.  

Her eyes met Isao for a quick moment, before she continued fighting.  Isao and Scam were fighting the other robots. Isao shot lightning out of his hand and killed the robot he was fighting.  

From the crack she made in the ground, she controlled the largest tree root to tie down the robots, so they could kill it.  Just when the robot she was fighting came close enough to Raine for her to electrocute it, the sky opened up and she felt a sense of dread come over her.  

Raine ran towards Scam and Isao as more robots fell to the ground.  The robots landed with a big boom, causing a crater to form in the ground.  If they landed on a building, the different floors would be broken and the side of the building would be knocked out, by their punches.  

Around them was chaos as men, women and children ran away from danger.  

“Take her.”  Isao shouted as they leaned back to back to each other as they watched the robots fall from the sky.  “Take her away.”

“What about you?”  Raine shouted as Scam took her arm.  

“I follow you wherever you go.  Go now and I’ll follow you to the ends of the worlds.”  Isao told her.

Before Raine could say anything, her vision darkened and suddenly she was in the System’s space.  

“Scam…”  Raine began to say, but she was cut off.  

“We don’t have time for you to train or transform, we need to jump worlds again.”  Scam told her as he frowned. “It’s the only way we can be safe.”

“Isao?”  

“He was able to escape before any of the robots attacked.”  

“And that world?”  

“Destroyed.”
