“The jealous Empress invited the noble Zither Master to attend the Crown Prince’s birthday to receive a noble gift on behalf of the Crown Prince, but truthfully wanted a piece of the Zither Master’s zither collection.  Upon seeing the Zither Master, the Empress forced the innocent Zither Master to play the zither in front of everyone. The alluring Zither Master played one song upon request and completely captivated the Emperor….”

“Skip to the end.”  Xinyue ordered, not wanting to know exactly what the new gossip about her was.  “I just want to know what they are saying about the Emperor.”

“That he has become bewitched by the Zither Master and is intending to make her, his Noble Consort.”  

“But no one knows of her background.  How could she be placed in such a high position?”  

“Who cares about her background, when you’re one man above all?  If he wants her to become a Noble Consort of the First Rank, he’ll give her that title and you wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.”  The Crown Prince said as he frowned at his host.

“How dare he do this to me!  After everything that I’ve done for him!  Placing him on the throne! Is this how he thinks he can treat me!”  Xinyue shouted as she stood up and glared at her system.

“That is why I told you to leave the moment you successfully achieved your mission.  Although you are one woman above all, you are still a woman. In these times, women are considered second citizens in this patriarchal times.”   The Crown Prince yawned as he laid on his side, not caring for his Host’s temper tantrum. This was not the first, nor the last time, his Host would throw a temper tantrum.  “You can still leave whenever you want to, but you insist on living the Empress’s life. Why? Because of love?”

“Yes!  Because of love!  Everything I did in this life was for Zhelan!”  Xinyue shouted.

“Everything you did was also for yourself, had you forgotten?”  The system said as he looked up at his foolish Host. “You love the Emperor, yes, that is correct.  And you did a lot to contribute to his succession to the throne. However, you also contributed to the blood that spilled in this world, to protect yourself, by using his hands to kill your enemies… even innocent people.  He repaid his debts to you by crowning you Empress, but what you failed to see is that he did not love you the same way you love him. He still does not look at you the same way you look at him. To him, you were a tool to use to win the throne.  Even marrying you was a strategic move. And even now, you are a tool for him to use to manage the back palace while using your family’s influence to suppress the other families.”

Xinyue glared at the Crown Prince and wanted to hit her system’s smart mouth.  However she broke down and bared her heart.

“Is it so bad that I just want to find someone to love and love me back?  We have traveled worlds, taking revenge on those who died with a vengeful heart.  Is it so bad that through these transmigration missions, that I want to find someone to love and cherish, who loves and cherishes me back?”

“I want to leave.”  Xinyue said after a long time.  “But I can’t. My heart cannot let go.”  

“You’re heart will be our downfall.”  The System said as he sighed loudly.

“I cannot go knowing that he will be taking the Zither Master as Noble Consort.”  Xinyue said as she stared at her system who change itself into the Crown Prince so they could stay close to each other.  

“Then what do you want to do?”  He asked as he sighed heavily again.  

“Although I have already succeeded my mission.  My only wish as a transmigrater is to find love with a worthy man.  But seeing how the Emperor is not worthy of me. I will destroy everything that is precious to him, starting with that Zither Master.”    

“If that is what my Host wishes.  Then this system can only comply to your orders.”  

Inside of Raine’s room, she is bathing in a hot, steaming water.  The rose petals float around the tub as Raine’s head leans against the side of the tub.  There was a slight smile on her face as she watched the Empress and her system plan Raine’s demise.  

[They are really trying it, aren’t they?]  Scam said as he shook his head.

Raine saw the image of Scam’s actions in her head and the corner of her lips twitched again.  

[They could just leave peacefully after completing a mission, but they want to cause chaos before leaving this world behind?  How could Headquarters let them do such a thing!]

“Headquarters is also the same group who erased your memory and falsified your history documents.”  Raine reminded him.

[But this Revenge System and Host is really asking for it with their lawless actions!]

“What did you expect from the Revenge System and Host.  They killed all of Li Na’s male family and caused her female family to become slaves.  Not only that, they also did a lot of unnecessary things to other families and citizens of this world, that didn’t need to be done, to complete their mission.  That Host did all these evil things and covered it up as "ensuring a successful mission." ”

[What are you going to do now that you know that they want your life?]  

“If they want to come for me, then let them.  Let’s see who’s the stronger transmigrater.” Raine said as she opened her eyes.  

When she did, there was a man standing right outside of the bathing room door.  The dark bedroom hid the man in the darkness and the lighting in the bathroom was dim as well.  However her upgraded mechanical eyes could see who the man was perfectly.

Her slag of a lover has officially become a peeping Tom.  She knew he was unhappy about her catching the Emperor’s eyes and came to her the moment he got home.  

Ever since she took Lady Shen’s customized order, Weisheng has been peeping over the wall, to stare at her.  At night, he would come over the wall and watch her sleep. He would leave just as quietly as he came. Since then, Raine barely spoke to Weisheng, only a couple of words in passing, but those few words were kept in Weisheng’s heart, forever repeating in his mind.

Weisheng was her slag of a lover who was repressed of his feelings and in society’s laws that even if he loved her and wanted to be with her, he couldn’t. His inner turmoil was fighting within himself.   So the only thing he could do is watch his love from afar and protect her secretly. Vowing to never get married, or bringing a woman into his home, growing old with her from afar. He thought this was the honorable thing to do.

He would rather be a single man the rest of his life, loving her, protecting her, watching over her from afar.  Then to marry someone else and be unfaithful towards her.

Although Weisheng had not made his intentions towards her outloud, his father knew something was wrong with Weisheng and probably already knows what’s wrong with him.  General Shen could only sigh loudly with a heavy heart every time he saw Weisheng.
