In the next two months, Raine’s days were fill work, while her nights were filled with her constant presence in another nightclub belonging to Craig. After her argument with Silver, she cut off contact with Silver and changed her nightly routine. The new club that Raine went to was a underground BDSM club. Her VIP room that she sat in was a double sided mirror room for voyeurs.
Craig never came to visit her at night, leaving Raine alone to her business. However he would take her out for lunch or dinner at least three times a week. They grew closer, however Raine still maintained her friendship status with him.
Raine sat at work, going through reports. She was now given 70% of the work, while Monroe oversaw the rest. Their relationship got closer and closer every day, with Raine taking time to spend time with Monroe.
Suddenly there was a call from her cell phone. Raine took a quick look at it and saw that it was Silver. Raine looked at the ringing phone, debating if she was ready to speak to Silver when the call ended and began ringing again.
“Hello?” Raine said after deciding that the two month silence was time enough for the both of them to decide what they wanted from each other.
“Addy.” Silver cried.
“What’s wrong?”
“I-- I need you.” Silver stumbled over her words. “Craig… he... “
Silver cries were so hard that her words couldn’t come out.
“Where are you?” Raine asked as she stood up. Raine thought that by going to Silver and being there for her, it would trigger a hidden side quest mission that she could complete.
“V..Val...Valmont Hotel, r..room 1030. Please don’t leave me alone.”
“I’m on my way.” Raine told her. “Don’t do anything stupid.”
Raine hung up the call and went to report to Monroe first. She didn’t want Monroe to worry about her and when he heard that Silver needed Addison because she was distraught over a breakup, Monroe let Addison go without a fuss.
As Irving drove, Raine was in constant contact with Silver, sending her text messages to ensure she didn’t hurt herself.
When Raine arrived to the hotel, she directly went to room 1030. She knocked on the door and it was quickly opened. Silver’s red, tear stained face peaked through and opened the door wider. She immediately threw her hands around Raine’s neck and cried as if her life just ended.
“Stay out here.” Raine told Luther and Max.
The two of them stood outside the hotel room as the door closed.
“Shhhhhhh.” Raine hushed Silver’s cries as she lead the both of them deeper inside. “It’s okay. Everything will be okay.”
“A...Addy… I-I didn’t think you would c..come.” Silver said as she cried.
“What happened?”
Raine looked around the large and empty living room and saw that they were alone.
“A-Addy… I… I’m sorry… f-forgive me.” Silver said before Raine’s vision went black.
[Host… wake up.]
…..
[Host… wake up.]
…..
[WAKE UP!]
Raine’s eyes opened and saw that she was no longer at the hotel. She was bound to a chair in an empty and dirty warehouse. The warehouse had very little lighting, only enough to let Raine know her surroundings.
“What happened?” Raine asked the system.
[Would you like a complete scan of your body. Yes/No]
“Yes.”
[Scanning…. please wait… please wait…]
“Damn it!” Raine thought as she tried to move her body. However she didn’t have any control over her body. Her body and her head was strapped onto the chair. “You need an upgrade!”
[Scanning complete.]
“What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I move?”
[A mixture of Ketamine and Halothane.]
“Drugs? Anesthetic?” Raine thought as she felt her high become more intense.
In front of her she saw a shadow walk towards her. The closer the shadow came, the clearer Raine saw that it was Silver.
“You’re finally awake?” Silver said as she pulled a chair to sit in front of Raine. “Sorry I had to do this to you. It wasn’t my intention to get you involved. But when Craig broke up with me today, I knew I couldn’t let him get away with it so he could begin dating you.”
“You might be thinking that I am jealous of you because of Craig’s intentions towards you. But I’m not… not really any way. I’m more jealous of Craig, because he received more attention and favor from you.” Silver cupped Raine’s face as she slid her thumb back and forth against Raine’s cheeks.
“After that night at Pleasure, where the three of us almost got into a menage a trois, I knew then that you completely captivated me. That you were the only one for me. Sex with Craig meant nothing to me anymore. Did you know, that after that night, Craig and I never fucked again. I made sure to argue with him, so he would leave. If he was going to see you, I made sure to tag along so you guys wouldn’t be alone. When I left with him, we would only argue and he would leave again. I only made it seem as if I was still infatuated with him and that we were lovers quarreling because I didn’t want him anywhere near you.”
“I meant what I said to you, but you didn’t believe me. You thought that my words were a lie, but they weren’t. The moment I met you, there was a part of me that knew, you were the one for me. It was as if my world was finally complete, that it finally had meaning. But because Craig and I had a past, we still had a lot of issues to deal with. However I never cared about who he fucked and how many times he fucked with another person. Until you came along.”
Raine’s lips were rubbed back and forth with Silver’s thumb as her eyes were lost in her thoughts.
“The thought of you with someone else made my blood boil with anger. The thought of someone else touching you, kissing you, and embracing you made my heart hurt so much it consumed my every thought. I wanted you so much, more than life itself. However you never let anyone near you. You held everyone at arm's length. At first I thought that as long as you treated everyone the same, I would be fine with it. I could slowly win you over. However there was always the ghost of your dead lover hanging over your head. I foolishly thought that I could make you forget about him, but you adamantly said that I was not him, that I could never be him. I could of made you forget him, had you just given me a chance.”
Silver leaned forward and kissed Raine’s lips. Raine’s lips opened with Silver’s forceful entry, however Raine couldn’t move a muscle. Raine breathed in deeply and her heart stopped completely for a moment.
It was that scent again. It was faint, but it was that scent that she could never forget. No matter how much time passed between them, that scent haunted her wherever she went.
Valentin. Raine thought. Is this really you?
