Raine threw the rock to Scam and jumped away, letting the rock hit the ground and break into pieces as if it was made of clay.   Raine began her exploration inside of the cave and suddenly stopped. In front of her was a shadow of a man. His body was sitting down on the ground as several chains were tied around him.

The moment she saw him, she knew who he was.  Her beloved Isao had transmigrated into a body that was captured and chained.  Raine quickly ran towards him with Scam following behind.

As Raine tried to unchain him, she noticed that the chains were enchanted.  Raine looked at Isao and could see that he was hardly breathing and unconscious.

“Scam, how can I get these chains off?”  Raine began to panic as she asked Scam.

“Try to use your Natural Magic, to see if you can manipulate the metal chain.  If you can’t, try to use your sword to chop at it.”

Raine did as she was told, her Natural magic could only work the chain link to only open a little.  With her sword, she squeezed her blade inside of the chain and worked it back and forth, opening the chain link wider.  When it was wide enough, she pulled out the chain link and the enchantment on it exploded, causing Raine and Scam to be knocked back.

Raine’s body hit the other side of the cave wall, while Scam was knocked back towards the entrance of the cave.  When Raine hit the cave wall, she also hit the back of her head. Raine could feel the slow seeping blood run down her head and towards her neck.  She shook her head from side to side, trying to get her bearings back.

Raine sat up and looked at Isao then at Scam and saw that Scam was alright.  As for Isao, although he looked better, his eyes were still closed. Raine tried to get up, however her legs failed her and immediately fell down.  She was still shaken from the blowback of the broken enchantment.

Raine had to crawl to Isao and remove the chains slowly.

“Scam, you alright?”  Raine asked

[Yes, I am fine.  I’m halfway done running a scan over my hardware.  How are you?]

“I’m alright.  Just a light bump to the back of my head.”   Raine told him.

[You can purchase a healing cream from the System’s Market Place to heal your injury.]

“Thanks, I’ll do that once I’m done here.”  Raine agreed.

Once the chains were off of Isao’s body, she took a good look at the elf he transmigrated to.  The elf had long black hair, a square jawline and high cheekbones. He was handsome, but because of the isolation and being bound by the enchanted chains, he was malnourished and looked haggard.

Raine reached out to touch Isao, but her wrist was suddenly caught by his hand, stopping her completely.  The man’s eyes opened up to look at Raine and she could see his eyes were red. The next moment, Raine couldn’t even see what happened next, nor could she struggle out of her situation.

Isao had brought Raine down to him and his teeth sunk into her neck.  His teeth pierced through her skin as he drank her blood. Raine quickly lost consciousness before she could even utter a word of protest.

In the darkness Raine slept.  The sleep felt good so she kept sleeping.  She had forgotten why she was there or how she got there, but the darkness around her felt comforting.

Raine would sometimes have dreams.  Of her family, what they were up to and how much their lives changed.  She could see how every sibling’s life wasn’t perfect and they held a great guilt inside of them.  On her birthday, all seven of them came to visit the river that her ashes were poured over.

The family reunion wasn’t a happy one, because none of them got along.  They blamed one another, bringing up past arguments and fights. Their differences built up until Leo told them off.

“You ungrateful sons of bitches!”  Leo shouted at them. “Why did you even come here, if you’re just going to argue!  Raine raised us, took care of us, worked herself sick for us and all you guys can do is argue about insignificant things that happened when we were still teenagers!  You got to be kidding me! You guys should leave and never come back to visit Raine! You don’t deserve her as a sister, hell even I don’t deserve her as a sister. But at least I cared for her.  Never claim her as your sister from now on, you don’t deserve to claim her as family.”

Leo gave each sibling a hard stare, making them leave.  Even though they wanted to speak, they could see that Leo was ready to fight them, even if they had good intentions.  Once Leo was alone, he began to cry. Why didn’t he remember how hard life could be? It wasn’t until now did he realize how much Raine endured on behalf of everyone.

Now that he was older than his older sister, he wished he could turn back time and redo his life.  He would help her more, take care of her, and make sure the rest of the siblings would learn how to be more grateful and thoughtful towards one another.

Leo cried bitterly at the side of the river.  His girlfriend could only stand beside him and hold him.

The disturbing scene caused Raine some discomfort.  The darkness around her wavered as she feels as if she has forgotten something.  The darkness around her fell back around her as a sense of warmth surrounded her.

“Raine.”  A voice softly whispers in the darkness.  “Raine, come back.”
