Happy Holi!

Today was the first time in 7 years that I went to play holi.

I used to play holi every year when I was in school. But that all stopped when I reached the end of my schooling years because of multiple reasons. The most prominent one was because my childhood friends started shifting so there was no kid left to play with. Besides, by then I had become a bit more conscious of wasting too much water and I started feeling extremely dirty after coming back home from playing holi.

I think the immediate reason why I stopped celebrating holi was because I got my specs around that time. Today I had to leave my specs at home and hope that I can make my way through people and not stumble (my number is PRETTY high).

But why did I decide to go today then? To be honest, I wasn't going to go even today but my family asked me to reconsider. Even Alex seemed to be excited this time around. Us residents were never really close to one another. So for some years, nobody in our building played holi. But some new residents and kitty parties later, people started getting closer. They had arranged for a full snacks/ lunch kinda celebration which our building hasn't done in years!

If there was one main reason why I went, it would be because my neighbour kids were back in town so I had company.

So today morning after mom and dad went down, Alex convinced me, we found out some of our old clothes and went down to play.

It did feel nice. I had already decided that I won't play much with water. Holi colours shall be my weapon. And according to my observation, though there was a tonne of water usage, it was still lesser compared to how much we used to use. But yeah, we played with water and various different colours, I met other residents that I hadn't had a chance to meet before, there was music, we danced a bit, had a long photo session and broke for lunch.

Everything went well. The atmosphere was very positive, happy and playful and I liked that. Not sure if I'll go for another one (especially if the neighbor kids aren't there) but today atleast was good.

Study schedule seems to have already gone for a toss now so that's one negative.
