Round two of trying to figure my stats project out.
First of all, after spending quite a lot of time 'looking for datasets', I finalised on one. Then I went through the text/reference book yet again and spent some time figuring out my categorical data. After a bit of trial and error, I was some what okay with this part of the project.
But figuring out the numerical part was another major and bigger witch-hunt. I found out step by step ways to deal with Excel in the reference book and a YouTube video and then tried following that how much ever I could.
By the end of the day, I had termed my project complete even when I knew I hadn't even covered half of what we were supposed to do. I just couldn't. I did whatever I understood and could play around with (mainly descriptive statistics) and the rest is something I'll leave for the professor to figure out.
Turns out, no one from the batch had it all figured out. They're planning to talk to the management and get the project changed if possible. A request for extending the deadline and making it a group project has been vehemently declined (by the professor) so everyone's kinda pissed at this point.
Mostly because dude didn't teach us shit about this. And I totally agree. There is a vast difference between what he taught in class and what he's given as a project and it's kinda unfair on his part to do that to us. His assistance also turned out to be very useless.
I'm submitting whatever I have done and we'll see what happens next.
