Today's breakfast- Bread-butter

Today's snacks- nachni chips.

It's my parents' 24th anniversary today. It's always been exam season during this time of the year so Alex and I didn't really do anything for them....

Okay I just checked the previous 11 Mays that I've journaled and I'd been perfectly free the last two years. Now I feel bad. Next year marks their 25th anniversary so we gotta plan something, even if it's not something huge.

My parents did celebrate something tho. One of my relatives is getting married so today was the Sangeet ceremony. When we had got to know the probable start date of my finals (which was more than a month ago), I knew that I wouldn't be able to attend the Sangeet. I was fine with it tho. My mom is close to the groom's parents but I've never really had a conversation with my cousin (the groom). Besides, I will be attending the wedding tomorrow so I still have a chance to meet the relatives I do talk to.

That was in the evening but mom, dad and I did have a small lunch celebration (Alex had gone for his training). Dad got stuff from a bakery that we frequent (but haven't done so recently).

In the evening, grandad came to visit as my parents and Alex got ready to leave for the Sangeet ceremony. Grandad and I spoke quite a bit. I always try to get him to talk about his childhood days. I can tell that he feels really happy talking about them and I like seeing him happy. Besides, I am genuinely interested in knowing about the old days.

I studied for a bit and then tried to decide what to order. I could have gone for the normal 1-person Chinese wok that Alex and I usually order but I wanted to have something different this time. Today was one of the very rare days where I was home alone and had to make dinner arrangements myself. So I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to try something I've never had before.

After surfing the food delivery app for a while, I shortlisted my choices to a Continental Chicken Rice meal and a Korean Bibimbap bowl. I had never tried either. In fact I hadn't tried anything from both the food joints (I found out about them today itself). I thought I'd probably convince Alex to try out the pan-asian place some day so I went and ordered the first dish.

I'm not really the one to order so I was very surprised when my food was delivered within 30mins, considering the location was quite far. And the food was good too. I'll totally order it another time.

I unexpectedly got a video call from dad while I was studying. I didn't really give a damn about my appearance when I waved at my relatives one by one. I couldn't hear a thing because of the loud music there. I was confused why dad called me in the first place. Maybe he didn't want me to feel left out. Don't worry dad, I didn't.
