POV Shawn

The sound check went fantastic. The sound here still sounds so beautiful, that was already a few years ago. Josiah and I also made a photo that I lay down on the floor like in the video clip of 'In My Blood'. I try to take photos like this in as many countries as possible, but sometimes I forget to do it.

Indy is still at the hotel with Nathan and my father, but they'll come later. I've decided this evening to put on the new shirt that Indy has bought for me this afternoon. I also got the flag of Portugal from my grandmother and I'll wear it too. I can't wait for this performance, the people here are always so enthusiastic. I get so much energy from the fans here that I prefer to get on stage and start already.

"Shawn, what are you wearing?" Tiffany asks as she walks in. I proudly show her my new soccer shirt, but she shakes her head. "We already have clothes ready for you, you can't wear this." She says. "But I got this shirt from Indy, I want to wear it." I try to convince her.

"Shawn, you have a dress code, we have to stick to that." She starts again. I know it's my performance and tour, but my record company also plays an important role in this. I can determine my own style, as long as it gives a 'rock look', but apparently that's not a football shirt. "Tiff, I really want to wear this shirt."

She looks doubtfully at the shirt and suddenly her expression changes. "Shawn, do you trust me?" She asks me while she searches for something in the kitchen drawer. I don't answer because I really don't know what she's up to. She turns around with scissors in her hands and asks me again. "Do you trust me?"

Tiffany and scissors? That can only mean one thing: she's going to cut it. I sigh deeply and then nod. "I hope you don't ruin it." I warn her. She hangs the shirt straight on my body and looks at it very well. "I never ruin it."

She puts the scissors on my shirt and then I hear her cut into my sleeve. A slight panic forms in my body. Is she seriously cutting my shirt? She walks to the other side and she cuts my shirt there too. I can't watch it. The shirt means so much to me now, even though I haven't had it in 24 hours. I think it's because I got it from Indy. In a few days she'll no longer go along with the tour and we'll no longer be together for a few weeks. I'm just going to miss her enormously. I think that's why this shirt means so much to me. It reminds me of her.

"It's finished." Tiffany says proudly. With eyes closed, I stand still, I really don't have the courage to look. It's not that I don't trust Tiffany, because she's a great stylist and she has such good ideas, but I got this shirt from Indy. If I don't like it, or if Indy doesn't like it, I ruined it. Then I really made a very big mistake.

"You can watch now." I hear Tiffany say. I gather all my courage and walk to the mirror. It looks like she just cut the sleeves off. I look at the shirt for a while and it looks really good. This is the 'rock look' that the record company would approve of and I love it. "That's dope, Tiff. Thanks," I tell her, "do you think Indy likes it too?"

I sit down on the chair that stood behind us and look at her expectantly. "Cool shirt, Shawn." Says Cez who just walked by. "Thanks."

Then I look at Tiffany again and before I know it I hear the sound of a camera. "There is only one way to find out." She shrugs and she hands me my phone. She took a picture of the shirt and says that I have to send it to Indy. "If she's mad, I'll blame you."

"Fine," laughs Tiff, "I'll even buy you a new shirt."

Shawn:

Indy: Did you seriously cut off the sleeves from the shirt I gave you?
Shawn: Sorry
Indy: No, don't be
Indy: You're a freaking genius
Indy: It's even better now😍
Shawn: I love your support baby❤️
Indy: And that scar on your cheeck😍😍 It's so hot Mendes
Indy: I guess a genius did that too?
Shawn: Yeahh... She's a genius
Shawn: When is my genius coming to the show?
Indy: Soon ;)
Indy: Love you Mendes
Shawn: Love you too baby❤️❤️
