POV Shawn

I had just finished my show when I saw the broadcast of The Ellen Show on television. I was so happy when I had finished my show, it went so well. But when I saw Indy sitting in that white chair next to Ellen, all the cheerfulness fell into my shoes.

What is she doing there?

Andrew, Mike and I watch television in silence. People passing by want to pat me on the back, but I've no eyes for them at all. Indy, my Indy, is sitting on a chair with Ellen DeGeneres.

My heart was beating in my throat when they talked about our break up, but she said nothing about Camila and me. Not a word. Only that we are good friends and that she is happy for us.

Ellen gets Indy to say that she sees someone else lately. It breaks my heart into billions of pieces when I realize that Indy is really moving on with someone else. I think it's that Reece guy. She deserves all the love from the world, really, but secretly I still hoped that I could give her that love.

"Are you okay, bro?" Mike asks who has put his arm around my shoulder. I shrug my shoulders and sigh deeply. I didn't even know I had held that breath.

"I miss her," I admit, "I'm going to call her."

"Is that a good idea?," Andrew asks, "you're dating Camila now. You don't want anyone to get suspicious, not even Indy."

I shrug my shoulders again, but I already dialed her number on my phone. "I just need to hear her voice for a second." I sigh. I click on the green button and my heart starts beating audibly.

"Hey?" I hear very softly on the other side of the line. She whispers. Suddenly I fall silent and I no longer know what I wanted to tell her. "Wait, I'll go to the balcony." She says.

I hear the creaking of her bed and then I hear a man's voice in the background. "I'll be right back, okay?" She says softly.

Is that... her new boyfriend? No... No, that can't be.

"Hey, everything okay?" She is still whispering. I hear the sound of the wind coming through the phone. She actually went to the balcony. I'm sure she doesn't want her new boyfriend to hear us talk.

"I want to tell you I'm sorry. I saw you at The Ellen Show today and... yea... thank you." I tell her. I have completely forgotten all the words. Everything I ever wanted to tell her, I forgot.

"Yea, uh, it's okay. It wasn't up to me to tell who you are with."

"I'm not with her." I tell her as fast as I can.

"Oh no? So you and Camila are not a couple?" She snaps back.

"Yes, but..."

I think of you. All night, all night, I always think of you. You've got a hold on me. Tell her. Tell her, Shawn. TELL HER!

"No Shawn, stop lying and making up excuses. I'm going to sleep again."

I hear three beeps. She hung up. She really hung up.

I throw my phone on my bed, because I'm mad of myself. He almost bounces off, but luckily he stays on the edge. My eye catches my guitar in the corner of the room.

I have an idea...
