POV Shawn

After an hour on the dance floor I finally got rid of Camila. She's dancing with her friends and I have been twirling my thumbs for at least half an hour. I don't even know why I do that, but I think it's because I want to get out of here. The people around us constantly talk about Camila and me, but also about Indy and me. It's no longer entirely unknown that Indy and I are 'dating' again and that makes me extremely nervous.

Then my phone vibrates and a message from Indy appears on my screen. I was waiting for this. As I unlock my phone I walk to the exit. I called for a taxi fifteen minutes ago, so it would be there any time.

Beautiful❤️: Babe I have a problem...
Shawn: What's wrong?
Beautiful❤️: I might have told Nathan that you'll be staying over tonight and now he won't go to sleep unless daddy comes and sings him a bedtime song...
Shawn: I'll be there in ten
Shawn: How about Sky?
Beautiful❤️: She's asleep
Beautiful❤️: I feel so bad for ruining your night...
Shawn: Are you kidding me?
Shawn: I've been twirling my thumbs in here for the last two hours dying to get back to the three of you
Beautiful❤️: Are you sure?
Shawn: Yea I'm sure
Shawn: I'm already outside waiting for a car
Beautiful❤️: I'll tell Nathan the good news 😉
Shawn: Haha tell him daddy will be there as soon as possible!
Shawn: And that I love him

I'm nervous when I'm sitting in the taxi to Indy's apartment. I always miss my children the most at these moments. Just when I know I'm going to see them, I get nervous and I just can't wait to hold them in my arms anymore. They are like teddy bears, so cuddly. I can no longer imagine my life without them.

The taxi hasn't even stopped driving when I open the door. I quickly give the man a fifty dollar note and get out of the car. The security guard of the building let me in downstairs and I quickly go to the elevator. I've never noticed how slowly this elevator is moving. I feel like I've been waiting in here for five minutes. Finally the bell rings and I hurry to the door of Indy's apartment.

I knock and immediately I hear Nathan screaming. "Who's there?" I hear Indy ask softly. I hear my son saying "dada". Then the door is unlocked and my two big loves are in the doorway. Nathan jumps up and down enthusiastically and extends his arms towards me. With a big smile, I lift him up and ask him if he shouldn't sleep yet. He shakes his head and gives me a hug.

"Hey beautiful," I say before I give Indy a kiss, "I've missed you. The party was boring without you."

She smiles sweetly and puts a tuft of hair behind her ear. She lets me in with blushing cheeks. It has been a long time since I've been here, because since we broke up I always picked up the children downstairs. She has decorated it nicely with all kinds of relaxing paintings and plants.

"Let's get you to bed." I tease my son. He looks sad until I tell him I'm going to sing him a lullaby. Immediately he wants to go to bed. Children are actually quite strange. They can change their mind from one moment to the next.

"Goodnight mommy," Nathan says as he waves to Indy, "kiss?"

She laughs sweet and walks towards us. She gives Nathan a kiss and a pat on his head. "Slaaplekker lieverd," she tells him in Dutch, "tot morgen." In the meantime, I've been around Dutch people long enough to know that it means 'goodnight'. I laugh and give Indy a quick kiss on her lips.

"Be right back."
