"You? My friend? I would never treat you like my friend."

"B-but . . . you told me . . ."

"I lied, Pranpriya. Just look at you! How can someone like you be friends with me? Pranpriya, I only used you."

"D-don't go away!" Little Lali cried, wiping her tears. She gripped onto her own shirt, unable to think clearly. "I don't care if you're fake, just don't leave me . . . please . . ."

"Just scram. Don't cry, you look disgusting."

Breakfast was rather quiet, maybe because I was quiet as well. I mean, I'd usually be the one who talks throughout the whole day but today was different. I was obviously lost in my own thoughts, and I felt guilty when mom noticed this.

"Are you feeling okay?" Mom calmly asked me, slicing her food. My head automatically turned towards her, she received a nod from me, and an unsure smile.

She wasn't convinced, nor was she content. I knew that. But I also knew that I'd tell her what I'm thinking sooner or later.

I'm sorry, mom. I can't tell you this one.

"You're going out later, right?" Dad asked me, and so I nodded, a feign smile beaming on my lips to avoid suspicion. He chewed his food down before he continued to talk. "Well, are you going out alone? I can ask Baby to accompany you--"

"No," I smiled, "no thanks, dad. I'm fine. Baby must be busy, considering that she just opened up a business."

Y'all remember Baby? Bambam's sister? Can't believe she flew all the way to Korea to tell me the news personally. She's also like a sister to me, I think I'm more of a relative to her than Bambam.

"Oh, by the way," mom spoke up, "Your uncle gave me some news about Lean."

I gripped onto my utensils a little too tight, which was noticeable. I gulped my food down, a quivering lips forced to curve into a smile. Mom never knew about what I've experienced under uncle's roof, neither does she know what really happened to Lean unnie.

She just thought that uncle sent her away to study abroad. But no, I know the truth . . . she didn't just leave. She left me, all alone, in uncle's care for the next three months after she disappeared.

"Lean's been working in Seoul, your uncle said she has a very good job now."

I almost choked--Seoul? Since when?

"Your uncle will visit us very soon, and I'll send you her address in Seoul once I find out," mom smiled, and so I feigned a smile as well.

Lean unnie . . . where are you? Why did you leave me, too?
