"Where are we going?" I asked as soon as i got into his car.
"To my place!" He smiles as he started the car.
He must have noticed the look on my face, because he quickly explained.
"Is it okay, though? I wanted to cook something for us, i just... i just want to do something right, for once!" he says, hitting slightly the steering wheel with his hand, he was looking so melancholic.
"Okay! It's okay, dinner at your place sounds great!" I said to calm him down.
He nodded in silence and started driving.
The drive was short, though, his place was closer to the gallery than Zach's house.
He opened the car's door for me like a gentleman.
The old blue building with white frames brought a lot of sad memories.
Actually only one sad memory.
"Before we go inside" he says, stopping me at the door of his house. "Last year, we were standing here..."
"Tom, no" i stopped him. "Can we not talk about this? At least not tonight, please? let's have dinner, like good friends that know each other well, and try not to make it awkward by talking about things that... it's just not the time" i said.
Tom looked resigned, and agreed with a nod before opening the door.
"Come on, feel like home while i get ready to cook" he says, walking behind me.
"Thank you, your house is beatiful" i commented and he chuckles.
"It's not glamorous like every thinks i would be, but it's the way i like it"
Just as i walked in, i stepped over a squicky toy, startling me.
"Oh! Ehehe, that would be bobby's" he laughed, picking up the toy and throwing it away from our way. "My dog, i miss him when i come home without him" he sighs.
"It's okay, your place is wonderful" i complimented, making him blush.
"Thanks, now come, i'll show you around" he invites me, taking my hand in his.
His touch made me feel all kinds of things.
It reminded me everything i wanted to forget.
How i needed him, how his soft skin warms my heart.
The way his fingers are intertwined with mines, fitting perfectly together.
It felt familiar and comfortable.
"This is the living room, that is the sofa" he joked, taking me with him. "Here's the kitchen, where i'll try to do something good for us" he laughs. "In the back you will see the guest's bathroom and upstairs are the bedrooms" he explains, taking me back to the living room.
"Sky... as much as i think you look absolutely perfect and gorgeous in that gown..." he blushes when he said that. "Would you like to change into something more comfortable while you are here?" He asks.
"I'd love to, but i don't have spare clothes"
"Would you mind using something of mine?" He asked, shyly. "There's some short pants my sister likes to leave here, i promise she won't mind, as for the top... only my t-shirts"
"I don't want to bother you, this dress it's okay"
"I don't mind, come! I'll show you the way and where you can change" he says, already dragging me upstairs.
"Wait! I can't go faster with this" i laugh, realising that in fact it's very uncomfortable to walk with the dress.
"Wait here" he demanded, running to what i suppose it's the bathroom, because he came back with a couple of shorts perfectly folded in his hands. "These are Emma's, i'm guessing you're quite the same size"
