Virgil Black didn't grow up very easily. His parents where soulmates, but his father was very abusive. How could someone's soulmate beat them everyday? Hurt them and throw them down like they're nothing?

Since then, Virgil never touched anyone. You see, the only way you could find out who your soulmate is, was to touch them. Their hand, face, or even knee. And it has to be skin to skin contact.

Virgil was terrified of finding out his soulmate, and them being like his dad, or worse, if that was possible. So he stayed away from everyone. The only person he made contact with, was his friend Logan. A stone-cold nerd, who found his soulmate back in 7th grade. A happy, emotional boy who is always smiling. He loves hugs.

Anyway, let's get into the story.

Virgil's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock screaming at me to get up. I sighed and turned it off. I got up, and got dressed. I put on my black jeans along with my black My Chemical Romance shirt and black gloves. I brushed my teeth and put my jacket on. I grabbed my phone and keys, slipping my shows on before grabbing my bag and walking out the door.

I walked into my first period and sat in my seat in the back. A few moments passed before the door opened and a boy walked in. He was tan, with light brown hair and amber eyes. He wore a white and red shirt with blue jeans.

The teacher stood up and greeted the new student.

"Everyone, we have a new student. His name is Roman Prince. Why don't you tell them about yourself?"

"Alright. I'm Roman Prince. I transfered here from a few towns down and that's about it." He said with a laugh. The teacher nodded and looked around the classroom, then looked at a paper.

"You'll be sitting next to Virgil Black. Over there in the corner." The teacher said. I looked up and made eye contact with Roman. He smiled and walked over to me. I looked at my desk as he sat next to me.

"Hi, nice to meet you." He said, putting his hand out for a handshake. I looked at his hand before pulling my voice tighter around my hand and hesitatly shook his hand.

"What's with the gloves?" He asked.

"It's the easiest way to make sure I don't find my soulmate." I said, writing some things down in a notebook.

"Why don't you want to find your soulmate? I think it would be grand to find my soulmate!" He exclaimed. I shook my head.

"I got my issues with the whole thing. Everyone has their soulmate except for me, which means I most likely don't have one."

"I don't have mine." He said quietly.

"Good for you."

"What's your schedule?" He asked, pulling out his and placing it on the table. I looked over it.

"We have the same."

"Fantastic!"

"I'm telling you, he could be your soulmate!" Patton exclaimed loudly.

"Have you seen him? We're total opposites." I said taking a bite from my sandwich.

"So are Logan and I!"

"Yes, although there is a very large chance he isn't your soulmate, it wouldn't be bad to try and find out."

"Guys, he isn't just soulmate!"

"Who isn't your soulmate?" Roman asked as he sat next to me.

"No one." I said.

"Well, how would you know if you haven't touched anyone?" He asked, winking at me. Causing me to grow red.

"So, Roman, right? Well have you tried to find your soulmate?" Patton asked.

"Uh.. Well yes. Actually when I walked into the school lots of people were already with their soulmates, so I just have to find the poeple who don't have one yet." He said. He put his hand on my knee and looked at me. I shoved his hand away and kept eating. I had a feeling he wasn't going to stop.

The bell rang and I walked to the park. No one ever came to this park, so it was a great way to escape. I laid down in the picnic table and sighed deeply, closing my eyes.

"I don't mean to interrupt, but may I join you?" Romans voice interrupted. I sighed again, but nodded. I sat up and Roman sat next to me.

"I- I want to know if you're my soulmate. Please." He said, placing his hand in my knee once again. I looked at him, but said nothing.

"Virgil, please." He begged. I looked into his eyes. I sighed before nodding slowly. I took my glove off and places it over his.

As soon as our skin made contact a rush of energy coursed through my veins, the feeling resting at my finger tips. I pulled my hand away but a spark kept them attached like string. I looked up at him with wide eyes to see him grinning.

"You're my soulmate!" We both yelled. He tacked me into a hug, almost knocking my off the table.

"You're my soulmate!!" He screamed even louder that before.

"And you're my soulmate." I said, hesitantly hugging back.
