The gang are back together again with four and a half hours to go. Midnight and the new century are just around the corner, so the squad are celebrating by meeting up. On a roof. For some reason.

After the fire, Jake moved into an apartment- it's still luxurious, but it's nothing compared to his old place. Still, no one complained when he suggested a mini camping expedition on the flat rooftop of the building.

The roof is flat, with the wall going up about a metre around the edge. Theres a doorway that opens to the staircase that leads down to the apartment building.

And though jakes apartment lacks in quality, one place where it excels is location. He has a beautiful view of New Jersey, making it ideal for camping.

Each couple arrives with a tent to share.

First to arrive, are Brooke and Chloe. They're always great at being punctual no one knows why. They don't both stop pat Jakes apartment, instead going straight to he roof.

Chloe slips the tent out of its bag. It clatters to the ground. She picks it up between her short manicured fingers. The wind blows gently against her stomach, which is exposed due to her black crop top. In fairness, it's her fault for wearing cute but skimpy clothing to a fucking rooftop in December. Holding the tent, realising there's no way she'll be able put it together by herself. She looks around for her girlfriend, to see her standing against the wall.

Brooks arms are outstretched, her eyes closed and head tilted back. She smiles gently as the sun shines against her face. The light breeze combs through her blonde hair and through her baggy cardigan. Brooks wearing a light blue shirt and jeans, with a huge yellow cardigan on top.

Chloe can't help but smile at her adorable girlfriend. She shakes her head, her brown hair falling in front of her face as she creeps over to Brooke.

She gently wraps her arms around the blondes waist, placing her chin on her shoulder.

"You happy over here, babe?"

Brooke chuckles, lowering her arms to hug Chloe's. She doesn't open her eyes, but dimples form on her cheeks as she grins.

"Much happier now that you're here"

Chloe presses a gentle kiss to her girlfriends cheek. She takes this moment to stare out at the view. The sun is low in the sky, spreading streaks of orange and pink and blue behind the skyline.

"Only a few hours until the new decade- how are you feeling?" Chloe asks gently.

"I don't know" Brooke replies. "Excited, maybe? I'm not sure yet. I guess we'll have to wait and see when the time comes"
