I had been traveling for almost a week and everything was back to normal, sort of. No demons or humans, just peaceful forest so I decided to stay there for the night. Normally darkness wouldn't be a problem and I would just continue, but not tonight. Tonight, I was human, so I intended to give myself a place to hide, just in case. My main concern was Naraku because even though he has seen me as a human, I've never fought him as one. Not to mention, when he had seen me as a human, I wasn't fully human like I am tonight. I had decided to sit down under a tall tree in the middle of the said forest, waiting for the sun to rise. That's when a familiar demonic aura and footsteps quickly drew near. "Kaya, good I found you. I need your help. He took Ryu," Hiroshi stated urgently. I stood up, "Slow down. Tell me exactly what happened." Hiroshi began his explanation. "Yesterday, Ryu went with the hunting party like he normally does, but he didn't return with them. Yasuo said that a woman with a fan attacked them and took Ryu, instructing them to find you. So, here I am." "I see. It was Kagura, one of Naraku's incarnations that took Ryu. I'll find him and bring him home." I told him. "In the meantime, return to your village and take care of your people. They need you to keep them safe." "Kaya, you can't do this alone, especially not tonight," Hiro said. "I'll be fine. Remember I'm no normal human." I said while hugging him. "Be safe, Hiro." "You as well Kaya." With those words, we parted ways.
It didn't take me long to find Naraku's castle. When I arrived the barrier opened, so I could enter the castle grounds. I knew this was a trap, but it was one I was happy to spring. I walked through the barrier with my bow drawn and was met with Naraku himself. "Kaya, it seems Kagura was right about you." I rolled my eyes. "Whatever, I'm just here for the half-demon." "Very well. Kagura, bring him here." Naraku ordered and Kagura headed inside the castle. I gripped my bow tighter, something was off. "Why did you want me to come here? There was a reason, otherwise, you wouldn't have taken Ryu to get me here without InuYasha." "You're smarter than I thought. I want your help with InuYasha." He stated. "As if last time we met wasn't a good enough answer, screw you and your offer. I'm done with the lies and hatred." I yelled while I released my arrow. I drew another and took aim at Naraku, but he was faster than I was. I barely missed getting pierced by his tentacle. I'd occasionally hit him with an arrow as I dodged, and he'd attack. Man, I wish the sun would rise because I won't last much longer, and neither will Ryu. After a while, I started to weaken because there is only so much a human could take. I had to finish this quick. Almost as I had that thought, I could feel my power returning; the morning was finally here. I drew Tenkari and began blocking his attacks. While jumping back out of his range, I raised my sword using Tenkari's main technique, Spiritual Winds.
The attack took Naraku by surprise, but he still managed to avoid it using a barrier. "We'll meet again soon, Kaya." With that, he left, with Kagura not far behind. I ran over to Ryu, who had been unconscious during the whole battle. He was alive, at least. "Ryu, hey, wake up." Nothing. I shook him slightly, but he still didn't stir. I picked him up bridal style like he had done to me so many times before and started running. I was going to get him home, where he belonged.
