Our group left the forest with Kohaku, Rin, and Jaken so we could find a suitable place to set up a temporary camp. I went and sat with InuYasha, Miroku, and Shippo while Sango stayed with Kohaku and Kagome. I was listening to the conversation between Kohaku and Kagome when Lady Kikyo's name was brought up. Her light was protecting his Shard and left a light in the center of the Sacred Jewel. Such a light, if used correctly, could purify Naraku and possibly finally destroy him. Unfortunately, we couldn't do that without taking Kohaku's life. Even if Kohaku seemed fine with that idea; an idea I understood better than most. That was when I saw InuYasha stand up and walk over to Kohaku and Kagome, just before hitting Kohaku on top of his head. I then got up and joined them, just before InuYasha decided to try and convince Sango to get Kohaku to stay with us. Kagome didn't like his tone, so both of us ended up eating dirt. After we got up, InuYasha and I went back to our place with Shippo. Kagome and Sango were much gentler than InuYasha would have been, but they still got the message across; much to InuYasha annoyance and Shippo's slight jealousy. I sighed, "You two are utterly exhausting."

By the next morning, Sesshomaru had still not returned so we were staying with Rin, Jaken, and Kohaku until he did. It had been peaceful for a while, that is until Jaken decided to open his mouth. Since he's been here, I've discovered he has a big mouth for such a tiny demon. Me being me, not wanting to end up eating dirt again, I went to confront InuYasha about what he was doing. Unfortunately, I decided to intervene too late. The good news is, it kept InuYasha and Jaken occupied for a moment. Shortly after that, Sesshomaru returned but something seemed off; especially, after he told InuYasha to draw his sword. InuYasha tried to talk Sesshomaru down in a way, but that ended with InuYasha almost getting hit with a Meido. Sesshomaru had gotten his wish, InuYasha drew Tetsusaiga and got ready to fight. InuYasha attacked first, but his wind scar didn't work. A second later, Tenseiga began to glow yellow with demonic energy just before it transformed into a replica Tetsusaiga. Sesshomaru released a wind scar that InuYasha barely dodged, causing him to notice Naraku's scent on the blade. A moment later, Byakuya appeared explaining what had happened. Everything made sense now, Naraku had played on Sesshomaru's despair, hatred, and anger to get him to kill InuYasha. Rin's voice interrupted my thoughts, for such a young girl she was very smart and perceptive. A second later, Byakuya decided the two needed to be "free of any interruptions", so he created a circle of wind followed by a sphere that disappeared. When Shippo asked where they had gone Byakuya didn't know. Sango threw her weapon causing Byakuya to vanish without a trace. We were examining the crater where InuYasha and Sesshomaru had just been standing, when all of a sudden storm clouds formed. Just before lightning struck, I caught the familiar scent of Master Totosai.

The first thing he said when he landed was, "they have already begun." Kagome questioned if Master Totosai could see the two and he offered to show us. I didn't think InuYasha would turn demon that soon into their battle. Granted, Tetsusaiga probably learned its lesson when it fought with the mirror demon. I did know, though, that no matter what InuYasha wasn't going to give up. My thoughts were affirmed when he countered Sesshomaru's Backlash Wave with his own. When InuYasha leaped into the air to attack, I thought he was going to end it there, but Sesshomaru had other plans. He hit InuYasha head-on with a Meido, slowly sucking him into the netherworld. I watched as Sesshomaru tossed Tenseiga into the Meido, only to have it react to Tetsusaiga in an interesting way. Tetsusaiga gained its dragon scale form, but there was nothing there except InuYasha and the two swords. As I had that thought, a pinkish-red glow caught my eye. That was a demon vortex. This particular vortex belonged to InuYasha, but what was he supposed to do about it? What was Tetsusaiga wanting? My sword began to pulse, and images flashed in my mind. I knew exactly what he had to do, but he had to figure it out. Kagome was right, InuYasha could do it. For the first time in a long time, I truly believed in him and his abilities. "That was faster than I expected," Master Totosai stated. He had finally figured it out causing Tenseiga and Tetsusaiga to attempt to become whole again. If Naraku hadn't interfered he would have completed what he needed to do; just like Naraku to take advantage of the situation. Naraku was controlling the sword from afar using the fragment from the mirror demon, using adamant barrage mixed with miasma. After several attacks, Sesshomaru jumped into the Meido himself and grabbed Tenseiga. He then began to clash swords with InuYasha until the fragment's illusion shattered and Tenseiga was split in two by Tetsusaiga. Tetsusaiga began to glow and turn black, causing InuYasha to become his normal self. The door Sesshomaru had opened was now closed and they were floating through the path to the netherworld. According to Master Totosai, there was no way out, but I knew differently. Most doors go both ways, so If InuYasha could use Meido Zangetsuha, he and Sesshomaru could escape. Master Totosai had this way of knowing when I had figured things out on my own, so he wanted me to keep this to myself for now. Tetsusaiga was fully InuYasha's sword now, he had to learn to master it on his own.

We watched InuYasha cut through something just before a large Meido appeared in our world. A piece of Tenseiga flew out when InuYasha and Sesshomaru emerged. InuYasha immediately fell to the ground, the amount of demonic power he must have used plus Naraku's miasma was not a good mix. Before Sesshomaru left, Master Totosai tried to get him to take Tenseiga, that was now a whole sword again, but Sesshomaru refused. Rin on the other hand had a different idea and took it with her when they left.

After Sesshomaru and his group were gone, InuYasha asked Master Totosai about what would happen with Sesshomaru. It was refreshing to see him show concern like that for his brother, the touching moment was short-lived, though. Master Totosai was right about InuYasha having to train with a new technique because without the help of Tenseiga he wouldn't have been here right now. Plus, this helped Sesshomaru get closer to obtaining a weapon that was purely his, even if he wasn't aware of it yet.
