We decided to return to Lady Kaede's village so Kagome could hopefully get better. She was in pain and had been in and out of consciousness the entire trip. Kohaku hadn't become conscious at all since Magatsuhi touched his shard. There was also the trouble of Magatsuhi himself, the literal evil representing the souls of the demons trapped within the Sacred Jewel. He had somehow taken physical form with Naraku's help. Plus, we had no idea what Magatsuhi had done to Kagome when he glared at her. I had an idea of what happened, but that was a conversation for another time. As I was thinking this, Kagome woke up fully alert with tears in her eyes. InuYasha asked if she was in pain and Miroku asked if she remembered what happened, but she didn't answer. She was probably trying to process, especially after she saw Kohaku. She asked Sango how Kohaku was, and she informed Kagome that he hadn't woken up since Magatsuhi defiled his Shard. Kagome offered to purify it just before the others began trying to figure out how Magatsuhi was able to defile Kohaku's Shard in the first place. Lady Kaede suggested it was because the purification spell that Lady Kikyo had put on it was directed towards Naraku, and Naraku alone. That made sense. Just because Magatsuhi was using part of Naraku's body, it didn't make him Naraku. After several moments Kagome stated that she couldn't purify Kohaku's Shard. It seemed that Magatsuhi had completely sealed her spiritual powers. Kagome was worried and it seemed as though Rin was just as worried as Kagome. Several minutes later, we heard Sesshomaru and Jaken begin to leave causing Rin to get up and run to the door. It wasn't long after she ran out did InuYasha follow, with Miroku not far behind him. Sesshomaru had turned his full attention to Magatsuhi because he had not only challenged his strength, but his honor as well. I could hear the conversation between Miroku and InuYasha. Miroku had come to the same conclusion I had about what had happened to Kagome. Even if we weren't happy about it, Sesshomaru was our only option for Magatsuhi's demise.

Later in the evening, we were sitting in Lady Kaede's hut. Kagome and InuYasha had left shortly after dark, leaving me with the rest of the group. I got to listen to Jaken and Shippo have a short argument, one that Shippo won. It was bothering me that we couldn't do anything for anyone, right now. Sitting around, only made me more anxious and more angry. Naraku had run out of tricks just in time for Magatsuhi to suddenly have a physical form. He was able to get to Kagome and Kohaku without a problem, something Naraku couldn't do.

The next morning, Kagome headed to her time for her entrance exams. Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and I went with her to say our good-byes before she left. Kagome felt bad about leaving, but everyone understood and said they would be there with Kohaku. I wished Kagome luck, just before Shippo told Kagome she couldn't leave without InuYasha being there. Kagome then explained that she and InuYasha had said their good-byes yesterday, just before saying she would be back after her exams were over. She then jumped into the well and disappeared in a flash of blue light. When we left, I parted ways with the others to go find InuYasha. I found him and Lady Kaede at the Sacred Tree, talking about Kagome facing a demon called entrance exam. I laughed to myself. It was weird to hear her tests be referred to as demons, but I understood they didn't understand what a test was either. I was pretty sure tests weren't invented for another century or two. I could tell they were still worried, though; InuYasha, especially. I had noticed he had become more protective over Kagome in the past few weeks. "You should go check on her," I blurted out. Kaede thought it was a good idea, too. She suggested that InuYasha take Kagome the bow from Mt. Azusa to help. I wasn't sure how that would help, but it gave InuYasha an excuse to go to Kagome, although by the look on his face he didn't need a reason. Soon, we were on our way back to Kaede's hut.

InuYasha returned the next morning and said he would be going back for Kagome in 10 days. It surprised me that he was letting her out of his sight for that long, then again Kagome's world is a lot safer than here. That 10 days will give me a little bit of time to try and figure out a way to unseal Kagome's spiritual powers without destroying Magatsuhi. I didn't feel like we had the time to just sit around and wait for Sesshomaru to find Magatsuhi, not with Kohaku's life on the line. Sadly, after several hours, I came up empty on the ideas front. Magatsuhi wasn't a demon, so demonic reversals were off the table. He was essentially a ghost connected to other ghosts that happened to be demons. The only thing certain about him was Tenseiga can hurt and maybe kill him. It seemed I would have to leave it to Sesshomaru, after all.

Day 10. No change in Kohaku and InuYasha has left for Kagome's world to bring her back. Over the past week, I've had to listen to Shippo and Jaken get into occasion arguments; several of which I ended. Talking with Rin was nice and it surprised InuYasha that I could be good with kids when I wanted to be. At this very moment, I am in Lady Kaede's hut with Sango, Rin, Jaken and Kohaku. Jaken was shocked that Kohaku has been able to 'sleep' this long without food or water. Rin then explained that sleep is good for children and told Jaken he probably didn't get enough because he was so small. I did snicker a little at that comment. Listening to those two all week has been quite entertaining. Several minutes went by before I began to feel a strong demonic aura start to enter the village. I stood up quickly with my weapons and ran outside to find Miroku watching an ominous demonic cloud. I fired a sacred arrow into the cloud and a small hole opened them promptly closed. Then I pulled Tenkari form its sheath, using spiritual winds, just before Miroku began using his wind tunnel. Sango had joined us outside shortly after that and told Miroku that we would handle the demons. He took off running towards Lady Kaede's hut, but I wasn't sure why, at first. The demons had merely been a distraction so Magatsuhi could make his move. Sango and I followed Miroku, only to find that Magatsuhi had possessed Kohaku. We couldn't attack without harming Kohaku, so the battle was definitely one sided. Miroku tried to pull Magatsuhi into his wind tunnel, but instead got himself poisoned worse. Sango tried to protect Miroku and got hurt too. I went to stop Kohaku and Magatsuhi, but he summoned more demons and overpowered me. I didn't know the hut had collapsed until InuYasha and Kagome showed up. Miroku's wind tunnel had spread further, too. When InuYasha and Kagome left, I began working on their wounds the best I could. Soon, Lady Kaede and Shippo returned and helped me as well before we moved the injured to a storage shed. It was our only safe place at the moment. Sango left to go after Kagome and InuYasha, despite my requests for her to stay with Miroku and let her wounds heal. I stayed behind to make sure nothing else bad happened.

I wasn't surprised to see Sango return so soon because she was worried about Miroku. Sango looked so sad, so when she asked to have a moment alone with the monk, I was relieved. We picked up Rin and took a walk around the village. When we had walked a little ways Jaken began to complain, again, but Lady Kaede ignored him by changing the subject to curing Rin. I smiled because she had had enough of him too. It wasn't long before Sango came to us and said she was going after the others, so we returned to the hut. We had been sitting in the shed for a while when I felt an evil aura suddenly appear causing me to look over at Miroku. Something bad was about to happen.

The red glow stayed for a long time but as quickly as it had started it disappeared and Miroku woke up. Rin woke up too, which meant they had probably defeated Magatsuhi. The problem was Rin and Jaken had left. It wasn't like them to wander about on their own, so I decided to follow them. When we got really far into the forest, a purple mist appeared but Rin kept walking. As she walked, a faint red glow appeared around her just before a demonic wind swept Jaken off his feet and the girl disappeared on the back of a demon. Miroku, Lady Kaede, and Shippo soon joined us and Jaken began blaming Miroku. We defended Miroku by stating the truth that it had been Magatsuhi. Just as Jaken was trying to figure out how to explain Rin's abduction to Sesshomaru, he showed up scaring Jaken half to death. This fight wasn't over, but everyone was still alive; at least I hoped so. I was worried about what had happened to Kohaku and if Naraku had gotten the Shard. Plus, Rin was now in danger because of Magatsuhi. The only thing I knew for certain, was the end to our fight was drawing near. Naraku's evil will end, no matter what it takes.
