I left the village of half-demons a day and a half ago. Hiro gave me "directions" to a village where I could find a powerful Priestess who might help me train my spiritual powers. So, that's where I decided to go, but this is as far as I got before I almost got crushed by a flying cow. "Hey, watch where you land that thing!" I shouted. "Lady Kaya, It's you!" I heard Myoga shout. "Myoga, "I asked in confusion, "what are you doing here?" "I came to fetch you. Totosai wishes to see you." Myoga stated with some urgency. I climbed on top of Master Totosai's cow and we headed off towards his cave.
When Myoga and I arrived at Totosai's it had already gotten dark. He was working on a wicked looking blade when we entered the cave and didn't seem to notice us. "Master Totosai?" I asked, rather loudly. He jumped, falling backwards. "Kaya, I see you've arrived." He said before sitting up. "Yes, you said you wanted to see me about something." I said. He motioned for me to sit as he sat down in front of me. "Myoga has told me you've training on your own." Totosai began. I nodded. He continued, "He also told me you've met the sons of the great dog demon and survived." That statement confused me. It's not that I hadn't heard the stories from Father, but I didn't actually know who they were. "Master Totosai, are talking about Sesshomaru?" Myoga spoke this time, "You mean you did what you did without knowing!?" "You were there, Myoga?" I inquired. "Of course, I was keeping an eye on you. You are still just a child." He stated. I didn't have a response, I was still a child, but I knew if I started training now, I could be as strong as father was one day, so I could protect people I cared for. With that thought, I saw one of the swords on the wall out of the corner of my eye begin to pulse. All three of us turned toward the sword, waiting to see what happened next. The sword began moving on its own, but still remained against the wall. An image came to mind of Father and I when I was very young; he and I were sitting in a field of flowers, he was holding me close and telling me about a recent battle he had while I wove flowers. I had made him a small flower crown while he told me the story and promptly fallen asleep, so Father carried me back home. It was such a nice memory. I missed him so much. That's why I'm training, so I could protect people just like he did. The sword was shaking rapidly and flew off the wall, landing in front of me. "I see the sword believes you are ready. Take hold of the sword, Kaya." Master Totosai commanded. I did as I was told and pulled the sword from it sheath. At first it was just an old katana, barely sharp enough to cut paper, then it began to glow and in my hand was a large fang.
I stared at the fang, utterly confused. "Totosai, did you see that. She caused it to transform on the first try." Myoga stated, sounding rather impressed. Totosai just nodded, as if he knew what had just occurred. "Master Totosai, might I ask what's going on?" I inquired. "It seems the sword has determined you are worthy of wielding it. I'm surprised, considering how young you are." He stated, still staring at the fang. As I began to put the sword back in its sheath, I noticed something on the sheath itself; a pattern of flowers. The flowers' pattern seemed familiar, then the image flashed again: the flower crown. Tears began to fall as I came to realize whose sword I was holding. "This is Father's sword, isn't it?" I asked, already knowing the answer. Myoga answered without hesitation, "It is, Kaya. It's the Fang of the Ruler of the East: Tenkari."
