A couple of days after we left Furai Shrine, we spotted a village on the horizon. Kagome had become tired and was still hungry from our lunch, so she got excited. When Miroku mentioned it I was quite relieved, even if the village did have a strange aura to it. That was something Sango had pointed out. When we arrived at the village, we found it was in ruins. A demonic aura was present and about the time I noticed, so did InuYasha. He led us to where the aura originated and shortly after we arrived the demons emerged. InuYasha made quick work of them using his wind scar. Due to the commotion, a couple of villagers rushed to us and thanked us. The led us to a nearby mansion, where the villagers were hiding out. They gave us food, which all of us were thankful for. While we were eating, Miroku asked about the recent attacks on highly spiritual monks and priests. InuYasha stole some of Shippo's food so I missed most of what he said, due to trying to keep the situation from escalating. The only part of the explanation that caught my attention was the mention of a woman with an infant. Miroku and Sango filled me in on what had happened when I was at Master Totosai's; before I went demon. Kagura and the infant were involved, so that meant Naraku was too, somehow. What I didn't understand, is what reason would they have for attacking humans? It just didn't make sense, plus we couldn't find out without tracking her down, Miroku came to the same conclusion and asked about highly spiritual monks or priests in the area who were still living. Monk Shinsen was the only one the villager could think of and rightfully so. Shinsen was a very powerful monk with spiritual power that could rival that of any monk or priest. It was said that he sealed away two strong demons, one was named Rengokuki and the other was named Entei. Entei is the most famous one, a demon horse with several different origins. Father had told me about Entei before when I was young. He told me that long before I was born he tried to mount Entei and rule the world, and it was shortly after that he met InuYasha's father and joined him. Once the villager had finished telling the story of Rengokuki and Entei, InuYasha stood up. After thanking the villager for our meal, we left to go find Monk Shinsen.

As we ran toward the temple, InuYasha and I caught the scent of blood mixed with incense. We picked up speed only to find the monk's disciples sitting next to his body. Kagura's scent was all over the place. When Miroku asked the disciples about Kagura and the infant, they informed us that Monk Shinsen had split the infant in two. This felt too easy for Naraku to be involved. I had learned his habits quite well while working for him and this smelled like a setup. At the mention of the border between this world and the next, things were starting to seem less murky. I had heard of such a place, but I wasn't sure why they would be looking for it. What was Naraku's purpose for looking for it? I was going to have to figure it out later because about that time I had that thought there was a large rumble. We took off after it with Shinsen's disciples in tow. They explained that the demon horse, Entei, had been sealed in the mountain behind the temple. About the time we reached the mountain, the shrine marker and rock it was attached to were engulfed in fire. A moment later, the entire mountain was engulfed in flame and collapsed meaning Entei had been unleashed. InuYasha was going to make quick work of him, but the demon horse sent an inferno in our direction. We scattered, luckily no one was hit. InuYasha tried to use his wind scar, but the demon dodged that attack and charged in Sango and Miroku's direction. Entei took to the sky again with Sango and Kirara on his tail. Sango tried to take out the demon using Hiraikotsu, but the demon dodged her attack as well by disappearing. Entei knocked Sango and Kirara to the ground causing Kagome to run to them. When Miroku was about to use his wind tunnel, a miasma appeared, and we had to jump back out of its range. InuYasha and I used our wind scar attacks hoping to take Entei out, but he dodged it while sending another inferno in our direction. Entei had been flying around but stopped abruptly. I could feel a wave of demonic energy start to form around the demon horse just before InuYasha was going to attack, Miroku stopped InuYasha from attacking just as Entei began his attack. At the same time, InuYasha and I told the group to get out of there. We didn't avoid the attack, but we also didn't get killed so I count that as a win. We climbed out of the debris that had been created by the blast and took off after the demon horse.

When we caught up to Entei, Rengokuki had been released as well. InuYasha challenged him and Rengokuki attacked with his naginata; a blow InuYasha countered easily with Tetsusaiga. Rengokuki was shocked InuYasha had blocked his attack, but that didn't stop him from blasting InuYasha off his feet with a ball of demonic energy. The demon then mounted Entei and attacked InuYasha again using his blade. The two locked blades several times before Sango caused Entei and Rengokuki to take to the sky. InuYasha used his wind scar but Entei dodged it. When InuYasha tried to use the attack again, Rengokuki had Entei retreat. As they flew away, InuYasha took off after them with the rest of us close behind.
