I knew there was a very slim chance of me coming out of this alive, but I couldn't have them wreaking havoc with Naraku on the loose. He might get a bright idea and try to recruit them. Or worse, try to absorb them. Takahiro was roughly the same size as Sesshomaru, but Momoka was slightly smaller by a couple of feet. Momoka pounced, but I was able to dodge underneath her. I had to be careful of their claws because while they weren't poisoned like Sesshomaru's if one of them touched me I'd either go full demon or turn human. Neither scenario was good, especially not this close to a human village. Takahiro decided to take his shot, but I slashed Momoka across her back ankles, causing her to fall on top of him. I ran out in front of the demons, waiting for one of them to try again. They did a joint attack and Takahiro trapped me under his giant paw before he could do anything else, I twisted my hand, so my claws were facing up and dug them into the pads of his paw. He jumped back in pain and growled as I stood up. Momoka jumped at me with lightning speed, smacking me with her claws. I flew through a wall of the palace and the pain from every injury I had sustained that day hit all at once. I was temporarily human, meaning I had to use my bow. The only problem was, I had no clue where they had put it. I quietly crawled away before getting up and taking off in a full sprint. The bow had residual spiritual power from so much use; that was something I could sense and hopefully aid in finding it. At the very last room in the hall I had run down, I found the spiritual aura. My bow and quiver of arrows were placed in the back corner of the room, so I ran to grab it. I ran back down the hall and outside to find both demons waiting for me with murder written on their faces. I fired my first shot at Momoka, hitting her back left leg. She transformed back into her human form a second later. My next shot was aimed at Takahiro, who saw it coming at hitting me with his claws sending me flying once again. I was back to my original self. When I stood up, I didn't put away my bow, though. Instead, I fired an arrow hitting Takahiro in his front right leg. He also transformed back into his human form. Both demons were screaming in agony, and as much as I would've liked to see them suffer, I decided to take pity on them. I walked up to Takahiro who kept burning his hand on the arrow. "I will remove the arrow on one condition, you have to leave and never try something like this again. If you do, the arrow won't go in your arm next time," my tone was harsh and dangerous. He nodded and I pulled the arrow from his arm. Takahiro took that chance to flip me on my back with his claws at my throat. I jammed the arrow into his side, and he fell over, screaming in agony. I just watched him writhe in pain until Momoka limped over, "We'll take your deal and leave. You will never see us again." We shook on the deal and I removed the arrow from her leg before removing the arrow in Takahiro's side. The two left through the gates and I slumped to the ground. Aoi ran up to me, "M'lady, are you all right?" "I'm okay. Can you go find your Father for me, and bring him to the 'throne room'?" I asked. "Of course. Are you going to be all right on your own?" She questioned. I smiled at her before standing up, "I've had worse." She nodded but looked skeptical. A moment later she took off and I headed to the 'throne room'.
When I reached the 'throne room', I collapsed to the floor. I just laid there staring at the ceiling until I heard footsteps approaching. I shot up and winced at the pain it had caused. Just before Taro and Aoi entered the room, I slowly stood up. "M'lady, you were incredible. All of those demons plus Lord Takahiro and Lady Momoka." I blushed at Taro's statements before I spoke. "I have a matter I would like to discuss with you. As I told you before, I am currently on a mission. I would like you to take up command of the Eastern Lands and this village while I am away. You can have any of the rooms in the palace but my mother and father's previous room. What do you say, General?" "M'lady, are you sure? I was the one who lured you here," Taro stated while looking down. I smiled at him, "I would have done the same thing you did if the ones I cared for were in danger. I don't blame you. Besides, my father trusted you and it wouldn't seem right to kick you out after all this time." He looked up to meet my gaze, "I accept, M'lady." "Good. Now the first order of business is to release any humans or half-demons my siblings imprisoned and place any of their followers who do not agree to leave, under arrest," I commanded. Taro smiled, "Yes, ma'am." He bowed before leaving. Aoi stared at me before speaking, "M'lady, what will you have me do? I can do the chores and things if you wish." "No, your talents are better for something else. I heard from the villagers and those in the dungeon, that you are excellent with caring for the sick and wounded. If you would, I want you to be the village physician," I told her. She smiled brightly before bowing, "I accept. Thank you, M'lady. Would you like me to take care of your wounds?" "That will not be necessary. I am leaving after I'm sure everything is in order here," I informed her. She nodded before leaving. I fell to the floor again and stared up at the ceiling, remembering my times here in the palace; General Taro and his oldest son, Huyu, my parents, the flower garden and so much more. A lifetime ago but still fresh in my mind. "Daydreaming, again, M'lady?" Taro asked. "Yes," I said as I stood up, "I should get going. Good luck, General." Taro bowed, "Good luck, M'lady." I nodded and bowed, as well, before leaving to return to InuYasha and his friends so we can continue our search for Naraku and the final Shard of the Sacred Jewel.
