(15 years Later)

I've been living with Amaya, who I now call mom, and her daughter, Ayumi, for about 15 years now. When we couldn't find anything with a record of my name anywhere, Amaya brought me to live with her family. It was very strange at first, for everyone. Not only did I have no memory of exactly who I was, but I didn't age for the first five years. Mom was freaked out, maybe even more than I was. As a solution, I didn't actually start school until Ayumi did. Which I'm really happy about because of my friends: Kagome, Yuka, and Eri. I wouldn't have made it to Junior High without them and Ayumi. Speaking of Kagome, I need to get everything ready for her 15th birthday tomorrow. I wanted to surprise her with something, according to what I've read and heard from her grandfather, that will bring her good luck. Since this is our last year before High School, I think she'll need it. Even though, her and Ayumi are two of the smartest people I know. I laid out my school uniform and got ready for bed after I made sure everything was in order. Soon, I was in the middle of a strange dream.

I was standing in the middle of an open field. A man with brown stood at the edge of the field and watched as a little girl picked flowers. The little girl resembled the man a lot, I assumed he was her father. The little girl giggled as she ran up to her father, bouquet of flowers in hand. She split the bouquet, so she was holding two and handed one to the man. "Here, Father, I picked them for you and Mother." The girl smiled happily as the man took the flowers. "They're beautiful, Kaya. I love them." The man laughed as he picked the little girl up. Just as they reached the edge of the field, a dark cloud formed overhead. The man looked uneasy, "Kaya, I need you to go to your mother." The girl nodded and ran toward a palace, of sorts. A woman with dark hair met the girl half-way, bow and arrow in hand. "Kaya, darling, go inside and hide. Don't come out until we tell you." The woman commanded. "Yes, mother." The girl said and took off running. Then the scene changed to a burning village and a wounded woman wearing the clothes of a priestess. A man with silver hair was holding a jewel in his hand but was instantly struck by an arrow from the priestess. The scene changed one last time, to a well surrounded by people. The little girl from before stood in front of the well, clearly frightened. An arrow pierced her shoulder sending the girl into the well. I woke with a start looking at my alarm clock: 4:00 in the morning. What was that all about? Why did those seem so real and familiar? Why did that little girl have the same name as me? I decided to figure it out later, falling into a peaceful sleep.
