When we got to Naraku's new castle, Kagura turned her dance of blades on me, which I easily blocked with Tenkari. If Kagura was this mad, I was worried about what Naraku would do to me. I knew it would probably be bad because I ignored his orders and tried to help InuYasha, but in all honesty, whatever he did to me was worth it. Naraku was waiting for us when we arrived. When we got within about six feet of him, his tentacles came straight towards me. Before I could do anything, he had restrained me with them and wrapped one around my throat. "You have disobeyed me again, Kaya. I thought we had an understanding; I will kill you." He stated, calmly. I couldn't move or speak. "Not to mention, you helped InuYasha escape." He said, as his hold grew tighter. "I'm sure, I'm going to have fun watching you suffer." After I heard those words, his grip tightened once more, and I felt myself slip into darkness.
I opened my eyes, to find I was in a dark room. I tried to move but heard the sound of iron clanging. "Dammit." I muttered and pulled on the chains. I did this several more times before a young boy spoke, "It's no use. Master Naraku made sure those were strong enough to hold you." I looked in the direction of the voice but could only make out the outline of a young boy. "I guess you're here to guard me, then?" I inquired. "Yes, and I was ordered to kill you if you tried to escape." The boy replied. "If you're stuck in here with me, anyway, can I at least know your name?" I asked. I heard someone enter the room to my right. "Kohaku, don't converse with this wretch." Kagura stated. I growled, "Kagura, you're alive I see. I'm surprised considering how weak you are." I heard her fan open and felt the impact of her dance of blades. I had hit a nerve. I laughed, "you honestly think if Naraku didn't kill me, he'd let you do it?" She huffed and left the room. Now to get rid of the boy.
It didn't take me very long to get the boy to talk to me. Apparently, I can be quite annoying when I want to be. We talked a little, but he wasn't much of a conversationalist. What I did learn was Naraku had erased his mind, all except his name, which was Kohaku. I remembered the name, he was the young boy Slayer who was at the castle the night they were killed. He also accidentally revealed the location of my weapons, which was a plus. Now all I had to do was to get him to leave the room for a few moments, so I could escape. I was in luck, Kanna came and told Kohaku that Naraku wished to see him. Now was my chance. I used the chains to help me stand and pulled Tenkari's sheath from my side. I held it out in front of me and it began to pulse as it called the sword forth. I grabbed Tenkari from the air and slashed my chains. I sheathed Tenkari, ran to the corner of the large room and grabbed my bow and arrows. My next task was to actually get out of the castle. I didn't know my way around this castle, so I followed my nose until I found the main doors. I opened them and ran through the courtyard of the castle to the front gates. It took me a moment to notice the demonic barrier around the castle, but it didn't stop me. I ran and ran until I hoped I was far enough away from the castle. I wouldn't have stopped there, but I could feel my strength leaving plus it was dark, so I jumped into the lower branches of a tree with the last of my strength. Before long, I let myself drift into the calmness of sleep.
