Over the next several hours, I thought about the conversation I had with Naraku. It brought back memories; some good, some bad.
Flashback: I was picking flowers in a clearing deep in the forest because I had wanted to be alone for a while. I hadn't been there very long when a demonic aura came near. Me being me, I stood up and ran because I hadn't brought my weapons with me. I ran until I came to the river that ran near the village. Hiding behind a tree, still holding the flowers I had been collecting, I heard something coming and thinking it was the demon sunk closer to the tree. InuYasha came around the tree, barely catching me before I fell in the river. He put me down on the other side of the tree, asking if I was okay. I called him a jerk for scaring me and took off running the way I had come. Unfortunately, I ran straight into the demon I had felt earlier. This demon threw me around like a rag-doll for a good few minutes. Sometime during this attack, my necklace came off and my demonic blood took over. I killed the demon fairly quickly and slowly changed back into myself. About that time, InuYasha came up and handed me my necklace. I took the necklace and hugged him.
That was the first time I called him 'Big Brother' and it definitely wouldn't be the last. Later that day, I met Naraku near the cave of Onigumo. A lot has changed since then, I just hope it has changed for the better.

"Kaya." I turned around and saw InuYasha leaning against a tree. "You're the kid." "Took you long enough." I retorted. "What is your problem with me?" He asked, defensively. "Kikyo," I said, quietly. He looked almost hurt like it was a wound for him too. "She died shortly after binding you to the Sacred Tree," I explained. "I know, Kaede told me." He stated. "All of this started because you wanted the Jewel and yet you waited until Kikyo was vulnerable to take it," I stated. He didn't say anything, for a long time. "I heard you." "What are you talking about?" I questioned. "When you were yelling, at the Tree. I heard part of it, its some of the last things I did hear." He said. His face looked so sad, I almost felt guilty about it. "I meant what I said. Neither of you deserved what happened, but apparently, people don't change." I said, looking down. "What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, defensively. "Figure it out yourself. I'm leaving." With that I turned and took off running, tears falling as the memories of that day flashed in my mind.

I didn't stop running until I was sure InuYasha hadn't followed. Finding a nice spot to let go of some emotions was nice because I could hear the birds singing and the sun shone through the trees brightly. It was nice. Once I found a nice spot, I stopped and notched an arrow. I took in a deep breath and released the arrow, hitting the tree in front of me dead in the center of the trunk. I continued to this until it got dark and I had everything under control. I decided to sit under the tree I had been firing at, to rest and watch the stars. The stars in Modern Japan were pretty, but they had nothing on the ones here. They were so bright and beautiful. I leaned against the tree and smiled, falling asleep to peaceful memories.
