Expelling the last of the explosives was the easy part, getting surrounded by and distracting demon ninjas was much harder. Miroku had sent InuYasha to go find Kagome and Akitoki, leaving Sango, Miroku, and I to take care of the demon ninjas. If their leader, Hoshiyomi, hadn't shown up, the plan would have worked. Our roles had been switched, so now I was following Kirara as she flew overhead following the cliffs. I was keeping my ears and eyes open, hoping to find Kagome before the Demon Ninjas did. Soon we arrived at the bottom of a waterfall and decided to start looking for clues there, but the only thing we found was Kagome's red scarf tie. Her scent had been washed away by the river so I couldn't find her that way either. Just before we were going to continue our search, a strong demonic wind blasted across the cliffs above. When Myoga stated the aura came from the Kon blade I almost fell over in shock, those blades were extremely powerful on their own, but if they were brought together it could spell devastation. Only then did I realize how important it was for the Ken blade to be sealed. Shortly after the blast, my ears twitched on their own and I took off. I ran into Akitoki and InuYasha not too long after that and noticed Kagome wasn't with them. Hoshiyomi had taken her as leverage for the blade. He told us to meet him at Furai Shrine and in exchange for the Ken blade, he would give Kagome back. InuYasha wasn't pleased with that idea and lunged with Tetsusaiga, but the sword didn't transform, so I followed in suit. Both of us bounced off the barrier Hoshiyomi had put up. Shortly after that, Hoshiyomi and his Ninjas disappeared leaving our group in the clearing. InuYasha began to leave but Akitoki stepped in front of him. The two argued about Akitoki accompanying InuYasha to Furai Shrine and Miroku brought up the fact that this could be a trap. In all honesty, InuYasha and I didn't care; Kagome's life was at stake. A moment after our conversation with Miroku, InuYasha took off with me and Akitoki right behind him.
When we reached the shrine, a light had formed above it. As I got closer, I realized there was a barrier but was too late on the warning and we were all sent flying in different directions. I was nowhere near any of the others, so I decided to try and dispel the barrier. I began climbing up the cliffs as quickly as I could without getting noticed by one of the demons below. When I reached the top, I pulled out my bow and fired an arrow at the barrier. The barrier quivered for a moment but didn't fall, so I fired again and got the same result. I fired a couple more arrows, but nothing happened so I pulled Tenkari from its sheath and charged the barrier. For a moment nothing happened, then all of a sudden a wave of energy sent me flying. Just as I was about to charge again, the barrier dissipated and was followed by Akitoki's screams of terror. I looked down over the falls to find Akitoki hanging onto the Ken blade as it rose through Shoun falls. Jumping down to help wasn't an option but getting that flying demon off of Shippo was. I fired an arrow at the bird, but it dodged last minute, and I moved out of the line of sight. It had noticed me but was more interested in the Ken blade. Before I could try again, the bird demon flew above the cliff and I could tell that Miroku had the demon handled. I stood up and ran for the shrine, hoping to get to Kagome, but when I reached Furai Shrine the doors were blocked by some kind of demonic power. I had a bad feeling about all of this, especially after I had to duck to keep from getting skewered by the Ken blade. When I tried to grab the blade, my full demon blood started trying to take over, so I jumped back away from it. Just as I did that, the shrine doors opened, and the blade flew in just before the doors slammed shut again. I ran back to meet up with the rest of the group and find out our next move.
The rest of the group was bloodied and bruised but still determined. I told them about what I had seen just before Hoshiyomi emerged from Furai Shrine. He had succeeded in restoring the Naginata of Kenkon and its power was truly terrifying. Hoshiyomi told us a little about the blade, before putting a barrier around himself. InuYasha lunged with an untransformed Tetsusaiga and I followed with a fully transformed Tenkari. Both of us were sent flying; Sango and Miroku attacked getting the same effect. A moment later, Hoshiyomi cut through the sky and a void formed. He began telling us how weak humans were and I stood up again only to be dragged forward several feet by the pull of the void. I knelt down, plunged my sword into the dirt and growled in defiance. The more this demon talked the angrier I got, so I risked firing a sacred arrow in his direction. The arrow hit the barrier and caused it to dissipate. Even with that, this demon continued his sob story and I was about tired of it. Akitoki's voice caused me to take my narrowed eyes away from the floating demon. What Akitoki said didn't surprise me, anyone with eyes could tell he was in love with Kagome. Akitoki did give a good point on human weakness; it's what made them human. Just after Akitoki's speech, a blue ball of light formed around Hoshiyomi causing him to leap back, leaving Kagome behind in the ball of light. The aura surrounding the light was strong and pure, but it wasn't the same kind of pure as Kagome's spiritual power. A moment later the light died, Kagome was standing in the middle of the light, but it seemed as though someone else was there as well. After several flashes, a priestess brandishing a sword fully appeared, replacing Kagome. This was Tsukiyomi, the human who had betrayed Hoshiyomi and dispersed the Naginata of Kenkon.
