I continued following the light, but its direction had changed. Now, I was fairly certain this light led to the real Shikon Jewel and Naraku. He was not going to live past today, I was certain of that. Walking around aimlessly was getting me nowhere until I barely missed getting sucked into InuYasha's Meido. That meant he wasn't far ahead and had probably found Naraku. It wasn't long before Naraku's body began emitting a very potent miasma. Whatever InuYasha was doing was certainly causing damage. I decided my only other option was up, so I began to climb. Easier said than done because about the time I began, Naraku began to rumble again, releasing more miasma. This happened several more times before the walls started to explode. I had a funny feeling that Sesshomaru had made his move. I started climbing faster, only to hear talking from my left causing me to look down. Out of the shadow I could see the silhouette of a transformed Shippo with a person riding on him. At least now I knew I was going the right way. Through the miasma I finally caught the scent of Shippo's riders. Miroku, Sango, and Kirara were with Shippo, meaning InuYasha and Kagome were more than likely together again. That also meant everyone was probably okay. The final battle was drawing near.

When I reached the top, Naraku's body shifted again causing me to fall. A moment later, someone caught me in midair and I looked up to see Sango had ahold of my hand. She dropped me on Shippo to stand next to InuYasha and Kagome. I drew Tenkari and felt myself return to normal; his poison had weakened. A second later, Sesshomaru burst through the wall behind us, followed closely by Kohaku, who had found Rin and Jaken. Everyone had made it to the final battle, alive. Naraku looked disgusted and furious by this. Despite his best efforts we had survived and were here to ensure his demise. We began using our attacks separately but weren't really getting anywhere. It wasn't long before Naraku absorbed the Jewel and started working on his full plan. He revealed he was going to take out the village by having us slay him, so Kagome had Shippo go outside. We landed on the ground and I began firing scared arrows at the masses of miasma that had fallen to the ground, causing them to disappear. InuYasha used his Meido Zangetsuha once again causing Naraku's body to disappear into a ball of pure miasma. Kagome fired an arrow at the mass and the arrow disappeared. Within seconds, the mass had been purified and the remaining masses disappeared. All of the miasma surrounding the village purified, instantly. The purified sphere fell to the ground and began chasing us until it reached the well, where Naraku appeared. Except instead of being whole, he was just a bit of flesh, bone, and a head floating next to the, now purified, Sacred Jewel with Kagome's arrow through the center. Just before Naraku died, he revealed that he had made a wish on the Jewel when Byakuya had cut Kagome with his blade. I had really bad feeling something was about to happen. When Naraku disappeared, the Shikon Jewel did too. We stood there in silence for a moment before Miroku unwrapped his hand to reveal the wind tunnel was gone. Naraku was finally dead. A moment later, a Meido appeared behind Kagome and within an instant she was gone. What had Byakuya cut her with to cause that? Shippo gave me my answer. Byakuya had apparently stolen demonic energy from the Meido that InuYasha had used against Naraku the first time. The Sacred Jewel wanted Kagome gone, so it had Naraku make that wish. That was when I heard Kaede say something about the Well, causing me to turn around. It had disappeared too, like it was never there to begin with. We all just stood there trying to figure out what the hell just happened. I turned to InuYasha who looked like he was thinking of a plan to get to Kagome. When he drew Tetsusaiga, I knew he had an idea. He had put some kind of puzzle together that the rest of us weren't getting, but once he entered the Meido I knew he'd bring Kagome back.

It wasn't long before everyone left, everyone except Shippo and I. We were beyond worried because neither of us knew where they had gone. Soon Miroku and Sango returned, requesting that they take over so Shippo can get some rest. To be honest, I wasn't sure how long we had been there, but I wasn't going to leave until both of them were back safe. Miroku and Sango soon joined us, looking over where the Well had once stood. We were all silently praying that our friends would come back. After several days, the spot where the Well was, began to glow causing it to reappear. Once the glow died, InuYasha came through the well, alone. We all wondered where Kagome was, but all InuYasha would say was 'she was safe'. They had fallen in love and I could tell he tried to bring her back but was prevented from doing so. The only good thing to come out of it was the battle with Naraku and the Sacred Jewel was finally over for good.

I stayed in Lady Kaede's village for three weeks after that. Miroku and Sango got married and became members of the village. InuYasha still went to the well every night, hoping to find Kagome waiting for him. He missed her so much more than he would admit, keeping it hidden so his friends wouldn't worry. Our group had taken work a couple of times during that three weeks slaying demons in other villages. It was weird to be fighting weak demons, err, weak compared to Naraku, that is. I wasn't ready to leave yet, but I promised Ryu I would return when it was over. I told the others good-bye before I found InuYasha under the Sacred Tree. A lot of times if he wasn't at the Well he would come here. "You're leaving today, aren't you?" InuYasha voice sounded so distant, like he was a million miles away. "I am. I have a promise to keep." "Stay safe, okay?" I ran to him and hugged him from behind, "you stay safe, as well. And take care of yourself. I have confidence you'll see her again someday." He didn't say anything, but he knew who I was talking about. Kagome had been all that was on his mind since he came back that day alone. He wanted to see her again, and I know she felt the same way. The only problem was the rest of the universe didn't agree. I finally let go and was about to leave when he grabbed my arm and pulled me back to him. I was going to say something, but his tears hitting my head told me not to. We stood there for a long time before he let go. "You know, if you want, Ryu and Hiroshi said you had a place at the Village of Half-Demons if you ever want it." He shook his head. "Good-bye, InuYasha. I'll come visit when I can. Stay Safe, Big Brother." "You as well, Kaya." With that I waved good-bye and headed towards the Village of Half-Demons.
