I leaned against one of the cars and watched Lori and Carl giving seed to the chickens. I had a smile on my face, not for what happened the night before, but because Carl was alive and he was up and moving.

I took a step forward when I saw Patricia walking away from the chicken coop with one of the chickens. She took it to another building, but I couldn't see inside it.

"You okay, Jess?" I looked over and Carl was looking at me.

"Yeah, you just go back to feeding those chicks." He nodded his head and went back to throwing the seed.

"Jess, why don't you come over here?" I had already focused back on the building.

"What?" I asked.

"Feed the chicks with us." I looked over at Lori and she was looking at me worried. If we didn't want to be suspicious then we would have to blend in and act normal

I walked over to the two and sat down on one of the pails. I sat at an angle where I could see both the barn and the building Patricia disappeared into.

Patricia left the building and I leaned forward. She had a wheel barrow and some type of bag inside of it. She stopped when a horse came running by, the same one Daryl lost. Patricia kept going. She went up the same way me and Glenn did, but she had a bag in her hand.

Oh, my god. They were feeding the dead. Oh, my, that's.

"Your kidding." I whispered. Something hit my face and I snapped back to it. Lori and Carl were both staring at me like I was crazy.

"You want to tell us what's going on, Jess?" Lori asked. But she sounded genuinely concerned.

"I'm gonna run to the bathroom." I know they were both watching me as I walked away. Once I was out of there sight I sprinted while I looked for Glenn.

I saw him and took a full sprint. He looked at me with wide eyes and waved me to come faster.

"They're feeding the walkers." We both whispered to each other.

"I don't know if I can hide this." Glenn told me. There was two big options here, but many small ones.

"We have to, until we can figure out the best way to do it all." I told him and he nodded his head. But his face told a different story.

"Maggie's bribing us with fruit and jerky, I'm gonna pass it out, I can't keep this."

"Hold that thought." I told him and ran all the way back to the chicken coop. I grabbed the biggest bucket I could find and ran back to Glenn.

I opened it up and took my half of the stuff.

"Your seriously taking it?" I looked up at him and nodded my head.

"I'm surviving and they just handed us the jackpot. I'm doing what needs to be done for me." I finished divvying it up. I stood up and looked behind me.

Dale was looking at us both, he looked the most confused I'd ever seen him. I waved to him and he gave a suspicious wave back.

I grabbed my bucket and walked away from Glenn.

I walked to me and Daryl's tent. I pushed the bucket into the corner and turned to look at him. There was a book sitting on the floor next to him.

"I would say you could read to pass time, but you don't know how to read." I chuckled at my own joke and Daryl did the whole fake laugh.

"I don't need to know how to read to survive." I don't think that's 100% true.

"That isn't completely true. But, at least one of us can do that part to survive." I smiled at him.
