The others were sitting around the table eating. Carl was looking at his food like poison. I was walking around while feeding the baby. Also now known as little ass kicker. No words were being said. The only noise that was heard was the clinking of spoons on bowls.

They were all looking at each other more than anything.

"Everybody okay?" We all snapped our heads in the direction of the door to the hallways. Holy- I couldn't believe that he was actually here. I stopped dead in my tracks and looked down at his daughter in my arms.

"Yeah, we are." Maggie told him and he started to walk through the door. He stopped over by Carl and Hershel.

"What about you?" Hershel asked him. They all told me that he was a whole mess and he was barely acting human anymore. But he looked like he had cleaned up, he had fresh clothes on, his hair was slicked back, there wasn't a speck of dirt or blood anywhere on him.

"I cleared out the boiler block." He told us. Is that what he was doing when he slammed Glenn into a wall for trying to help him.

"How many were there?" Daryl asked.

"I don't know. A dozen, two dozen. I have to get back. Just wanted to check on Carl." He patted Carl's back and started to walk back towards the door but Glenn stood up.

"Rick, we can handle taking out the bodies. You don't have to." Glenn told him and I personally agreed. From what I heard about his he shouldn't be conquering this alone.

"No, I do. Everyone have a gun and a knife?" He asked while he walked over to Daryl.

"Yeah. We're running low on ammo, though." Daryl told him.

"Maggie and me were planning on making a run this afternoon. Found a phone book with some places we can hit up, for bullets and formula." Glenn told him.

"We cleared out the generator room. Axel's there trying to fix it in case of emergency. We're gonna sweep the lower levels as well." Daryl told him and Rick nodded.

"Good. Good." Rick said and then hurried away.

"Rick." Hershal called out but Rick just shut the door and kept walking down the hallways.

Carl, Daryl, and Oscar were getting ready to leave and I walked over to them. They knew that I wanted but then Daryl pulled me aside again. I knew what he was going to say and to be completely honest I was gonna be okay with it.

"Hey, J, I know that you want to come with. Normally I would let you, but maybe you should stay back this time. Help with the baby, help Hershel if he needs it, put less stress on them. Help Maggie and Glenn prepare for there run. Okay?" I nodded my head and Daryl pulled me in from the neck so he could kiss me on the forehead and walk away.

But after Daryl walked away Carl walked over and put a hand on my shoulder and turned me so we were both turning away from the group.

"Yeah, Carl?" I asked him and he turned to make sure nobody was around us.

"Are you still collecting things from our fallen ones?" He asked. Well, nobody had talked to me about it since. But I nodded my head and looked at him.

"Yeah, I am." I told him. Carl looked behind us and then looked towards the cell block.

"Can you look through my mom's stuff? I want whatever would symbolize her, before it's all gone." I nodded my head.

"Like the wedding ring she took off when her fingers were bloated?" I asked and Carl nodded his head.

"You got it, my guy." I told him and he walked back to the boys. I looked at the cell block and figured I'd wait until the group was in a smaller fragment.
