The horn was still blaring and we were still running. Each of us was panting trying to keep our own distance from the herd.
"Try again." Rick told Glenn and we stopped running for a second.
"Tobin, it's not stopping. Light it up. You hear me?" Rick asked but it was just static. We needed those flares, now.
"Tobin!" Rick said but the walkers were already catching up. I looked at Glenn and the three of us were running again.
"Michonne." Rick said.
"Got it." She said and took it out before running behind us.
"Shit! Shit! It was half. Jesus, it was more than half." One of the men in the back was telling us as if we didn't already know. I was more worried about my family at the moment.
"We just gotta stay ahead of them. They walk, we run." One of the woman told him.
"Rick!" Daryl said over the radio and that was when it clicked. When I was done in the fight Daryl was the one that was trying to talk to me but I changed stations. He doesn't know what happened. Shit.
"I'm here." Rick told him.
"What's going on back there?" Daryl asked.
"Half of them broke off. They're going towards Alexandria." Rick told them and there was a moment.
"Towards you?" Abraham asked.
"We ran ahead. There's a horn or something. Loud, coming from the east. It's not stopping." Rick told them.
"I'm gonna gas it up, turn back." Daryl said and Rick looked at me. I shook my head at him.
"We have it. You keep going." Rick told him.
"They're gonna need our help." Daryl said and I grabbed my radio.
"We have to keep the rest of them busy. That's why we need you guys to stay." I told him.
"Gotta keep the herd moving." Rick told him.
"Not if it's just going down, we don't." Daryl said and it was true but not at the same time.
"The rest of the herd turns around, the bad back there gets worse...Daryl?" Rick asked.
"Yeah, I heard you." Daryl said and we put our attention back into running.
I led the group and Glenn was behind me. I was trying to think of what I could do.
"Rick!" I called back to him.
"If I can get to the bike, I can go through the woods and lead them back to Daryl." I told him.
"There's too many, you might not be able to get through or go around. The only thing you should use the bike for is to haul ass back to Alexandria. Plus the bikes a mile back." Rick told me and I nodded my head.
One of the girls fell and she twisted her ankle. I looked back to see Glenn helping her through then I looked back forward and continued to lead the group.
"All right, listen up. Here's the new plan. I go back, get the RV, circle the woods on Redding. I'll get in front of them before they get there. I can lead them away again." Rick told us.
"RV's a mile back. I can go with you." One of the men told Rick.
"I'll handle it. Just get home. They might need you there. Glenn, Michonne, Jess." Rick said and signaled for us to follow him.
"If something's in front of you, you kill it. No hiding, no waiting. You keep going." Rick told us.
"I'm going with you. You can't do this on your own." Glenn told him and I agreed but our people could need us more.
