I rubbed the sleepiness out of my eyes and jumped off the top bunk. Boots, leggings, tank top, black and blue flannel. Black on black. No shock there.
I brushed my teeth and hair. I put my hair into a ponytail and walked down the stairs to Rick and Judith. Rick was in the middle of waking Carl up when he looked up at me.
"Mornin, sunshine." He told me in a cocky tone and a smile.
"Mornin." I told him. Beth eventually came and got Judith.
Rick, Carl, and I walked outside to see Michonne getting a horse ready.
"Careful out there." Rick told her. She was going way to far for me to be okay with it. I hated not going with her, especially that far out. 70 miles of walkers and walkers aren't the only threat, we know that.
"Always am. Any requests. Jess, I already have the bag. Books? Comics? Some stale M&M's?" She asked.
"You the one that likes stale M&M's." Carl said to her.
"Then I'll definitely be looking for some. I'll look for some stuff you like, too. Any official stuff, Ms.Dixon?" She asked and putting ms and then using my last name slightly scared me but people still do it.
"Bras of any kind. And anything else medical, feminine, anything that a smart person would grab." I told her.
"I love and hate when you get official." She told me in a mocking tone.
"Shut up." I told her.
"I love you, too." She said.
"Oh, Michonne, I do have one more thing." I said to her and she stopped.
"Yes, Ma'am?" She asked.
"Come back safe." I told her.
"Always." She told me and shoved a baseball cap on my head backwards. Our paths departed. When Michonne leaves--when anybody leaves a piece of me does too.
"Why don't you wear your hat anymore?" Michonne asked Carl and we all stopped.
"It's not a farming hat. See you soon?" Carl asked her.
"Pretty soon. Make sure Jessie brushes her hair." Michonne told him and I threw my hands up in the air.
"Shut up! It was one time!" I told her and she smiled at me before continuing to walk.
I left and went to take out the walkers. The morning had fog but it wasn't a lot. The crowbar felt heavier in my hand as I used it. Something didn't feel right.
"Oh, shoot." I whispered.
Patrick came into my office and he asked for tylonel. Normally I do a check up on anybody that asks for it. I would have to do it in a little while, right now I had the fence.
A gunshot went off and I froze. More went off and I sprinted out of the fencing before thinking twice.
"Help! Help! Please come quick!" Two little girls came running out towards us.
"Cell block?" Maggie asked from the tower.
"I don't know." Rick called back.
I was at the gate. I knew where I wanted to go. Rick knew where I wanted to go.
"Jess, check our cell block. Make sure everybody's' okay, deal with everybody frantic." Rick told me and I sternly nodded my head. The group of people eating were everywhere when I ran over.
"Walkers in D!" Glenn screamed at us.
"What about C?" Rick frantically asked.
"Clear. We locked the gates to the tombs. Hershel's on guard." Sasha said while running out of our cell block.
