Too Far Gone

I woke up and Daryl was sitting on a chair below me. The I.V bag was hanging on the bed post to my left.

"How long was I asleep for?" I asked frantically.

"Probably like almost a day." He said casually.

"You let me sleep for nearly a day!" I asked him and he looked up at me.

"Glenn's okay, they got the walker bodies out, the fence is being worked on--"

"What happened to the fence?" I asked. Did I miss that much? That's why I don't like sleeping for long periods of time.

"While you guys were dealing with the walkers in A, the fence was being knocked down and hundreds of walkers came in, Carl and Rick got em." Daryl said.

"The fence?" I asked. That was my job, that was what I had to do before I walked into the cell block. Daryl stood up and got eye level with me on the top bunk.

"Not your fence. Okay, as soon as you went into the cell block, which I would have like to know about."Daryl said and I smiled at him.

"Funny story. Rick was actually going to tell you but you were gone. How did the run go?" I asked and Daryl looked around.

"I nearly beat Bob. But that's another story. Why don't you go check on Glenn." Daryl said and I jumped off the bed and grabbed the I.V bag. Then I ran into cell block A. I went up the stairs and Maggie walked out into the doorway.

She gave me a big smile and met me at the top of the stairs. Maggie wrapped her arms around me and I wrapped mine around her. It was the silent one where words weren't needed.

"He's been asking for you, let me see about every five seconds." Maggie said and I laughed and then walked into the cell block. I walked in and Glenn's face lit up.

"When I said go sleep, I didn't mean half a day later. I'm just kidding, I think you needed more than that." Glenn said and I smiled at him before sitting next to him on the bed. I put the I.V bag in the sink.

"That thing how you've been keeping me alive?" I asked while motioning towards the bag in the sink.

"Yeah, I mean you went days without food and water, then you went to bed. They had to keep it on you. Maggie's been changing it." Glenn said.

"What about Hershel?" I asked and Glenn looked around.

"They went to get rid of the bodies but that was the last we saw of them." Glenn said and I looked at him with confusion.

"Who's they?" I asked.

"Him and Michonne." That was when my heart stopped and all of a sudden I felt light headed. Glenn put his hand on my shoulder and shook it lightly.

"Hey, they'll be okay. They'll be back." Glenn said and I looked around. I didn't even want to know how long they'd been gone for. I wouldn't be able to do it.

"I haven't seen Michonne since she left." I whispered and looked around the room some more. My eyes stopped at the familiar bag in the corner.

"Glenn, is that my bag?" I asked.

"Oh, yeah, it is." He told me with a smile.

"May I ask why my bag with everything, including my katana and bow are here?" I asked while the bag was in a corner. The katana and bow with the quiver were laying next to the bag.

"About 12 hours after you left, I was like 'man I miss, Jess.' So I asked Maggie to grab your bag and she did." Glenn told me and I looked back towards him.
